The search for transformative medicines has continuously uncovered select diseases associated with the disruption of the endocannabinoid (eCB) signaling system in the brain and emphasized the therapeutic value of small molecules that rescue this signaling system. In this issue of JCI, Wang et al. report that genetic disruption of PPP2R1A function in mouse forebrain, a preclinical mouse model of neurodevelopmental disorders, resulted in pronounced impairment of eCB signaling.

In this reply, we address the concerns raised regarding the theoretical consistency of the modeling approaches used in our original study on hydrogen sulfide adsorption onto ZSM-5. Specifically, the issues relate to the application of the Temkin isotherm, the Weber-Morris intraparticle diffusion model, and the use of a dimensional distribution coefficient in the thermodynamic analysis. We acknowledge that the simplified Temkin model was misapplied and does not strictly conform to theoretical requirements; however, it was used to represent mid-range adsorption behavior consistent with our experimental conditions.

This critique identifies methodological flaws in the analysis of hydrogen sulfide adsorption on a zeolite adsorbent, as reported by Asman [, 2024, , 20409-20426]. Key concerns include fundamental errors in the formulation of both the Temkin adsorption isotherm and the Weber-Morris intraparticle diffusion model, along with inconsistencies in thermodynamic calculations. These flaws undermine the reliability of the study's findings and diminish its contribution to hydrogen sulfide adsorption research.
