Constructing robust electrocatalysts and shedding light on the processes of surface reconstruction is crucial for sustained hydrogen production and a deeper understanding of catalytic behavior. Here, a novel ZIF-67-derived lanthanum- and phosphorus-co-doped CoO catalyst (La, P-CoO) has been reported. X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) confirms that the La and P co-doping reduces the coordination number (CN), improves oxygen vacancies (O), and leads to lattice distortion. Soft XAS confirms that Co exists predominantly in La, P-CoO than in CoO. Investigation of surface reconstruction with in situ Raman spectroscopy revealing that La, P-CoO reconstructs earlier into catalytically active γ-CoOOH during the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) process. As a result, La, P-CoO exhibits commendable electrocatalytic performance with minimal overpotentials of 351 mV for the OER, 222 mV for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and 1.46 V for the urea oxidation reaction (UOR) to achieve a current density of 50 mA cm. A two-electrode electrolyzer using La, P-CoO as anode and cathode, achieving 19.4% energy savings during urea electrolysis compared to overall water electrolysis while maintaining stability for 72 h. This study provides a new perspective for understanding the mechanism and co-doping impact on the physicochemical properties of spinel CoO for sustainable energy conversion.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the dimensional and positional deviations of additively manufactured removable dies fabricated using two bio-based resins and one conventional dental cast resin, while also evaluating these outcomes over a 4-week period.
Materials And Methods: A right mandibular first molar preparation on a typodont was scanned to digitally design removable dies and hollow partial arch casts. Based on a priori power analysis, a total of 30 dies (n = 10) and three hollow casts (n = 1) were fabricated using additive manufacturing (AM) from three different dental cast resins: DentaMODEL (DM), FotoDent bio-based model (CB), and soy-based resin (SB).

Surface electromyography (sEMG) holds great potential in walking function evaluation. Compressed sensing (CS) leverages the sparsity of signals to decrease the number of samples required. In this study, a sEMG CS algorithm for spinal cord injury (SCI) patients based on regularized orthogonal matching pursuit (ROMP) was introduced.

The equilibration dynamics of ultrastable glasses subjected to heating protocols has attracted recent experimental and theoretical interest. With simulations of the mW water model, we investigate the devitrification and "melting" dynamics of both conventional quenched (QG) and vapor deposited (DG) amorphous ices under controlled heating ramps. By developing an algorithm to reconstruct hydrogen-bond networks, we show that bond ring statistics correlate with the structural stability of the glasses and allow tracking crystalline and liquid clusters during devitrification and melting.

Background: Acetabular reconstruction is often challenging in revision hip arthroplasty, especially in the face of moderate to severe acetabular bone deficiency. In some severe bone defects, double-metal tantalum cups can improve the contact area between bone and implants, increase the surface area for bone ingrowth, and better restore the anatomical position of the acetabulum. Furthermore, with a good press-fit, the auxiliary screw has a minimal effect on acetabular cup stability.

Giant cell tumor (GCT) of the bone, although benign, demonstrates local aggressiveness, a potential for recurrence, and, in rare instances, malignant transformation. Functional preservation is crucial in cases involving the articular surface, often utilizing the Sandwich Technique. We propose an enhanced reconstruction method using the inner table of the iliac crest in a reverse fashion, offering a more anatomically contoured proximal tibial plateau and reducing donor site morbidity compared to tricortical iliac crest grafting.
