We report the transposition of a 9,045-bp transposon (Tn) carrying the /target-gene-like()/ array to a conjugative plasmid (pCtra) in pediatric multidrug-resistant community-associated methicillin-resistant . Tn contained a 7-bp target site () on the left; an internal on the right, apparently "brought-in" through a circular intermediate; and and in the gene and its neighboring gene, respectively. This transposition enhanced ampicillin resistance and facilitated Tn spread at a frequency of 10.

is a commensal bacterium that colonizes the gut of humans and animals and is a major opportunistic pathogen, known for causing multidrug-resistant healthcare-associated infections (HAIs). Its ability to thrive in diverse environments and disseminate antimicrobial resistance genes (ARGs) across ecological niches highlights the importance of understanding its ecological, evolutionary, and epidemiological dynamics. The CRISPR2 locus has been used as a valuable marker for assessing clonality and phylogenetic relationships in .

Tuberculosis (TB) remains a global health challenge, with around 10 million new cases reported annually and multidrug-resistant strains complicating control efforts. Although incidence has declined in many high-income regions, neonatal populations remain vulnerable, underscoring the continued role of Bacillus Calmette-Guérin (BCG) vaccination. BCG vaccination provides strong protection against severe forms of TB in infancy, though its efficacy against pulmonary disease in adolescents and adults is modest.
