This study aimed to evaluate the mechanical behavior of a removable partial denture (RPD) using a new technique of impression-the combined impression technique (CIT)-via three-dimensional finite element analysis (FEA). A patient was selected to have removable partial dentures fabricated using CIT and the open-mouth impression technique (OIT), and the results were compared through FEA. Compared to OIT, CIT resulted in lower von Mises stresses on abutment teeth and alveolar ridges, with no significant stress concentrations and more balanced mucosal displacement in edentulous areas. CIT proved promising as it presented more favorable results than OIT in this simulation.

Purpose: This study aimed to compare the dimensional and positional deviations of additively manufactured removable dies fabricated using two bio-based resins and one conventional dental cast resin, while also evaluating these outcomes over a 4-week period.
Materials And Methods: A right mandibular first molar preparation on a typodont was scanned to digitally design removable dies and hollow partial arch casts. Based on a priori power analysis, a total of 30 dies (n = 10) and three hollow casts (n = 1) were fabricated using additive manufacturing (AM) from three different dental cast resins: DentaMODEL (DM), FotoDent bio-based model (CB), and soy-based resin (SB).

Purpose: This systematic review evaluated the clinical performance, physical-mechanical properties, and accuracy of removable partial denture (RPD) frameworks fabricated using three-dimensional (3D) printing technologies-specifically, selective laser sintering (SLS), selective laser melting (SLM), and direct metal laser sintering (DMLS)-compared to those produced by conventional casting or methods using a partial digital workflow.
Study Selection: Following the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses 2020 guidelines, a literature search was conducted in the PubMed, Scopus, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases in October 2024. Studies were included if they compared the fit, accuracy, mechanical and physical properties, and clinical outcomes of metal RPD frameworks made using 3D printing technologies with those produced using conventional casting or partial digital methods.
