Article Abstract

In this study, phenol removal by ozonation under strong alkaline conditions in a continuously operated jet loop reactor (JLR) is investigated. The effects of inlet ozone gas concentration, hydraulic retention time (HRT), and influent phenol concentration on phenol, chemical oxygen demand (COD), and total organic carbon (TOC) removal in the JLR effluent are evaluated. When the inlet ozone gas concentration is 17.5 gO m, the steady-state phenol, COD, and TOC removal efficiencies are determined as 97.8%, 61.1%, and 32.2%, respectively. When the inlet ozone concentration increases from 17.5 to 56.5 gO m, phenol is not detected in the JLR effluent. The system operates at different HRTs, and the highest removal efficiency at steady-state is obtained at 8 h HRT. While phenol is completely removed at this HRT, COD and TOC removals are 76.8% and 48.2%, respectively. An increase in phenol concentration in the JLR influent leads to a reduction in the phenol, COD, and TOC removal efficiencies in the steady-state effluent.

The performance of a dual Quantum Cascade Tunable Infrared Laser Differential Absorption Spectrometer (QC-TILDAS) was investigated for evaluating its applicability as close path analyser in eddy covariance monitoring of CO, O, NH HO, CH, NO. The field test was carried out over a mulched watermelon crop during a whole growth season, in south Italy. Air was sampled by an inertial inlet" suitable for NH detection without mechanical filter.

This study examines the response of O-NO-VOC sensitivity to temperature under the windless (≤3.3 m/s) and "no precipitation" daytime conditions from 2014 to 2019 in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. A non-parametric regressing DPO-NO (or NO) curve-based method was validated that the ozone formation regime (OFR) spatial pattern was generally consistent with the previous satellite-derived HCHO/NO ratio (FNR)-based studies.

Introduction: Wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) and drinking-water treatment plants (DWTPs) are critical for public health due to the potential risks posed by microorganisms that may persist after treatment. The aim of this study was to detect the microbiome profiles of waters from both DWTPs and WWTPs under the Istanbul Water and Sewerage Administration (ISKI), identify the antimicrobial resistance profiles in all these facilities, and observe the differences in the microbiome between the inlet and outlet of different WWTPs.

Methods: A total of 52 samples were examined, comprising 18 samples from DWTPs and 34 samples from WWTPs.
