Article Abstract

To prepare to address the mechanisms of injury-induced nociceptor sensitization, we sequenced the translatome of the nociceptors of injured larvae and those of uninjured larvae. Third-instar larvae expressing a green fluorescent protein (GFP)-tagged ribosomal subunit specifically in Class 4 dendritic arborization neurons, recognized as pickpocket-expressing primary nociceptors, via the GAL4/UAS method, were injured by ultraviolet light or sham-injured. Larvae were subjected to translating ribosome affinity purification for the GFP tag and nociceptor-specific ribosome-bound RNA was sequenced.

Classical Hodgkin Lymphoma (CHL) is characterized by a complex tumor microenvironment (TME) that supports disease progression. While immune cell recruitment by Hodgkin and Reed-Sternberg (HRS) cells is well-documented, the role of non-malignant B cells in relapse remains unclear. Using single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) on paired diagnostic and relapsed CHL samples, we identified distinct shifts in B-cell populations, particularly an enrichment of naïve B cells and a reduction of memory B cells in early-relapse compared to late-relapse and newly diagnosed CHL.

Problem: Preeclampsia (PE) is a leading cause of perinatal maternal and fetal mortality. Clinical and pathological studies suggest that placental and decidual cell dysfunction may contribute to this condition. However, the pathogenesis of PE remains poorly understood.

Aims: Although the ability of the heart to adapt to environmental stress has been studied extensively, the molecular and cellular mechanisms responsible for cardioprotection are not yet fully understood. In this study, we sought to elucidate these mechanisms for cytoprotection using a model of stress-induced cardiomyopathy.

Methods And Results: We administered Toll-like receptor (TLR) agonists or diluent to wild-type mice and assessed for cardioprotection against injury from a high intraperitoneal dose of isoproterenol (ISO) administered 7 days later.

Clusters of deep intronic RbFox motifs embedded in large assembly of splicing regulators sequences regulate alternative splicing.

The RbFox RNA binding proteins regulate alternative splicing of genes governing mammalian development and organ function. They bind to the RNA sequence (U)GCAUG with high affinity but also non-canonical secondary motifs in a concentration dependent manner. However, the hierarchical requirement of RbFox motifs, which are widespread in the genome, is still unclear.

Background: The SARS-CoV-2 virus has evolved subvariants since the emergence of the omicron variant in 2021. Whether these changes impact viral shedding and transmissibility is not known.

Methods: POSITIVES is a prospective longitudinal cohort of individuals with mild SARS-CoV-2 infection.
