Water pollution is a concern, as sewage water contains phosphates that come from different sources, generating eutrophication in bodies of water. There is also an overexploitation of phosphorous, which has a huge relevance due to its use in agriculture. Traditionally, different physical or chemical treatments have been used to remove pollutants from water, some of which use a sustainable management approach focusing on nutrient recovery, rethinking wastewater treatment as resource recovery.

With the worldwide accelerated biodiversity loss, there is great urgency to prioritize areas in need of conservation and methods to identify them. Still, very few research targets combining different measures to quantify diversity under its various aspects and here we aim to fill this gap. We defined and measured overall biodiversity by integrating taxonomic, functional, genetic-, and niche-based diversity, lambda diversity, which expresses the cumulative sequential differences in communities along a gradient, and xi ecological integrative diversity combining community, spatial, and environmental heterogeneity.

The current practice of workplace-based assessment (WBA) in many health professions education contexts does not live up to the expectations regarding WBA's both formative (for learning) and summative (for decision-making) potential. In this Scholarly Perspective, the authors argue that the ambition to observe and assess so-called authentic behavior of trainees plays a role in this. According to the literature, for assessments in the workplace to be valid, direct observation of authentic behavior of trainees performing authentic clinical work is key.

Rainy weather significantly deteriorates the visibility of scene objects, particularly when images are captured through outdoor camera lenses or windshields. Through careful observation of numerous rainy photos, we have discerned that the images are typically affected by various rainwater artifacts such as raindrops, rain streaks, and rainy haze, which impair the image quality from near to far distances, resulting in a complex and intertwined process of image degradation. However, current deraining techniques are limited in their ability to address only one or two types of rainwater, which poses a challenge in removing the mixture of rain (MOR).
