Background: In this systematic review, we assessed health-related quality-of-life (HRQoL) measures in patients with complicated intraabdominal infections (cIAIs) commonly associated with sepsis and evaluated the impact of cIAIs on HRQoL.
Methods: Following a prospectively registered protocol in PROSPERO (CRD42021255827), we searched electronic databases, including MEDLINE (PubMed), EMBASE (Elsevier), and CINAHL (EBSCO), from database inception through September 2022 to identify studies that measured HRQoL in patients with cIAIs.
Results: We identified 93 articles that included 45 HRQoL measures: 32 generic, 5 condition-specific, and 8 symptom-specific. Additionally, in 12 studies, researchers developed their own HRQoL questions or questionnaires. The measures evaluated symptom status (30 measures), functioning (39 measures), general health perceptions (8 measures), and overall HRQoL (12 measures). Article results showed that HRQoL in patients with cIAIs improved over time post-treatment and that symptoms, including pain, fatigue, and incontinence, were common. Only the diverticulitis quality-of-life (DV-QoL) instrument had been psychometrically tested in patients with cIAI.
Conclusions: This review highlights the need for disease-specific HRQoL measures that are rigorously tested and validated in patient populations with cIAIs, which can be informed by the DV-QoL.

Background: Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is a prevalent degenerative joint disorder that significantly impairs physical function and daily activities. While conventional treatments focus on symptom management, complementary therapies such as aromatherapy massage have gained attention for their potential benefits.
Objective: This study evaluates the effects of peppermint oil aromatherapy massage on functional impairments in KOA patients.

Behçet's disease (BD) is a rare multisystemic vasculitis that significantly impacts patients' quality of life. Effective management of BD requires a patient-centred approach that empowers individuals to actively participate in their care. This work explores the importance of patient empowerment, adherence to treatment, and patient education in BD.

Importance: Patients with inflammatory rheumatic diseases (IRDs) frequently experience psychological distress; however, access to psychological support remains limited.
Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of a digital psychological intervention for individuals with IRDs.
Design, Setting, And Participants: Participants aged 18 years or older were recruited across Germany between February 22 and June 4, 2024, if they had been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, or systemic lupus erythematosus and reported psychological distress and reduced quality of life.

Antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs) represent a promising therapeutic approach in gynecologic cancers, particularly ovarian and cervical malignancies. Agents such as mirvetuximab soravtansine, and tisotumab vedotin, targeting folate receptor alpha and tissue factor, respectively, reported clinical efficacy in patients with limited options. However, their use is associated with ocular toxicities, including keratopathy, blurred vision, and dry eye, which may impact adherence and quality of life.

Introduction And Objectives: High socioeconomic status (SES) is associated with improved oncological outcomes across various cancer types, including prostate cancer. However, limited evidence exists regarding the impact of SES and lifestyle factors on patient-reported outcomes (PROs), including quality of life (QoL), health status (HS), and functional recovery following radical prostatectomy (RP).
Materials And Methods: We conducted a retrospective single-center analysis of 327 patients undergoing RP (177 open, 150 robotic-assisted) assessing pre- and postoperative functional outcomes (QoL, HS, erectile function, continence).
