The study explores synergistic interplay of and to address the current gap of suboptimal feed conversion ratio and inadequate enrichment of ω-6 fatty acids (FAs) in the breast muscle of the broiler chicken. Total 288 Ross-308 male broiler chicks were randomly distributed in a complete block design at 2 × 3 (Two different phytochemicals, i.e., , and at three different levels, i.e., 0, 0.063, and 0.125 % of the basal diet) factorial arrangement. Final live weight (FLW), average daily feed intake (ADFI), average daily gain (ADG), feed conversion ratio (FCR), carcass characteristics, cardio-pulmonary morphometry, haemato-biochemical indices, gut morphology, ileal nutrient digestibility, tibia morphometry, meat quality and FA profile were measured. Results indicated that, supplementation of leaf meal (AILM) improved 6.0 % FCR (), 35.9 % tibia calcium content () and 9.6 % of the digestibility of CP () at the expense of 14.9 % FLW (), 20.6 % ADFI (), 15.1 % ADG (), and 16.0 % right to total ventricular ratio (). Accordingly, powder (CLP) improved 2.1 % FCR () at the expense of 5.9 % FLW (), 7.6 % ADFI () and 5.3 % ADG (). The AILM substantially increased 52.4 % UFA (), 58.2 % MUFA (), 38.7 % ∑PUFA (), 41.7 % ∑ω-6 FAs () and decreased 24.3 % ∑SFA (). Similarly, the CLP increased 8.1 % ∑UFA (), 21.6 % ∑PUFA (), 22.4 % ∑ω-6 FAs () and decreased 4.3 % ∑SFA (). The AILM and CLP interacted to increase 35.3 % ∑UFA () and to decrease 21.2 % ∑SFA (). It was concluded that concomitantly improved FCR and meat quality without affecting gut morphology and haemato-biochemical indices of the broiler chicken.

Infectious bursal disease virus (IBDV) is a highly contagious, economically relevant immunosuppressive pathogen of chickens. Despite belonging to a single serotype, virulent IBDVs display a remarkable heterogeneity in genetic and functional features. Traditionally, strains are categorized into classical, variant and very virulent viruses, but many atypical IBDVs have been recently identified.

The emergence of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) Escherichia coli in poultry farming is a growing global public health concern, particularly in Bangladesh, where the use of antibiotics remains largely unregulated. This study aimed to determine the prevalence and AMR patterns of E. coli isolated from broiler chickens in Sylhet district of Bangladesh and to investigate the network of coexisting resistance traits among the isolates.

Unlabelled: Poultry farming in high altitude like Leh-Ladakh, India is a challenge due to hypobaric-hypoxia environment and probiotic may support gut health, feed efficiency, production and adaptation in chicken. Therefore, the present study was performed to elucidate the role of probiotic on broiler chicken gut microflora from two different high altitude locations; Leh and Chang La. No change was found on the growth of the broiler with probiotic intervention.

This study aimed to characterize the sensory attributes of Japanese thigh meat, such as texture, odor, and flavor/taste, and to identify the instrumental parameters that distinguish it from commercial broiler chickens. Six chicken thigh meats were used: one (, 14-week old) and five broilers-three Ross 308 (7, 7, 9-week old), one Hubbard ColorPac (10-week old), and one Hubbard RedBro (10-week old)-from different producers. Descriptive sensory analysis was conducted with a trained panel to establish a comprehensive sensory lexicon and quantify attribute intensities of thigh samples cooked in a steam convection oven at 185°C.

This study evaluated the efficacy of Eucalyptus globulus essential oil (EEO) supplementation in attenuating ascites incidence and physiological disturbances in broiler chickens exposed to a cold-induced pulmonary hypertension syndrome model. A total of 720 one-day-old male Ross 308 chicks were randomly assigned to six dietary treatments, each with six replicates of 20 birds. The thermoneutral control group received a basal diet under standard conditions (32°C on day 1, gradually reduced to 23°C by day 20 and maintained until day 42; relative humidity [RH] 50-60 %), whereas the remaining five groups were exposed to cold stress (temperature reduced by 4°C/day from day 11 until reaching 15°C, then maintained at 10-15°C until day 42, RH 55-65 %) to induce ascites, and were fed the basal diet supplemented with 0, 500, 1000, 1500, or 2000 mg/kg EEO.
