This exploratory study investigated Germany's heterosexual swinger community within the consensual non-monogamy spectrum. It used anonymized, verified data harvested in September and October 2023 from Joyclub, the leading online platform in Germany focused on sexual exploration. The first part examined anonymized profiles from self-declared swingers, totaling 22,973 individuals, revealing a mature demographic, with median ages of 44 for women and 46 for men. Despite high regional variations, no clear correlations between swinger prevalence and regional socioeconomic factors were found. Subgroup analysis identified BDSM-affiliated swingers and those involved in open relationships or polyamory, with a higher concentration in urban areas. The second study assessed 14,008 attendees at 82 categorized swinger events, which showed a preference for sex-focused events across all age strata. Contrary to the male-centric perspective, the data revealed events strongly focused on women's preferences, including those targeting younger male partners. Events also combined sexual activities with social elements and drew participants from greater distances, indicating a strong commitment to the community lifestyle. A prominent presence of solo women was observed, contradicting earlier findings from other countries. Reduced pricing for women did not correlate with higher attendance, questioning the effectiveness of such strategies. The use of verified data and a large sample size provides robust insights into Germany's swinger community, emphasizing gender participation and regional variations. This study offers an empirical foundation for future research and highlights the importance of local contexts and terminology in studying sexual behavior.

The increased popularity of swinger clubs across the UK in the past two decades has not been met with commensurate public health initiatives or interventions that engage with the relationship between swinger clubs and sexual health. Consequently, the responsibility for sexual health promotion within these establishments largely depends on the discretion of club managers. Drawing on data from semi-structured interviews with 10 managers from across the UK, the study suggests that the managers' perceptions of the club-consumer relationship shape the nature of sexual health promotion.

Sexual consent has received increased attention in mainstream media, educational, and political settings since the rise of the #MeToo movement in 2017. However, long before #MeToo, sexual consent has been a core practice among people who engage in Bondage and Discipline, Dominance and Submission, Sadism, and Masochism (BDSM). This study examined sexual consent norms among a sexually diverse sample, including people who practice BDSM (n = 116), people who identify with another sexual minority group, such as swingers and sex workers (n = 114), and people who did not identify with a sexual minority group, termed sexual majority group members (n = 158).

Using Owen's Thematic Analysis, we reviewed the Reddit posts of participants in two online communities regarding consensual non-monogamy (CNM) during the January 2021 peak of the Covid-19 pandemic. In 5,209 comments, 465 unique users in the /polyamory and /swinging forums on the social media platform Reddit referred to the pandemic with two themes emerging as most salient. In the first theme, participants described, interpreted, and responded to the social limitations of the Covid-19 era, with particular attention to limitations on CNM identity and behavior during the pandemic.

Background: Swingers, heterosexuals who, as couples, practice mate swapping or group sex with other couples or heterosexual singles, are at risk for sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Therefore, the aim of this study was to assess changes in sexual behaviour and STI testing behaviour, as well as predictors of STI testing.
Methods: Two cross-sectional studies were performed, using the same internet survey in 2011 and 2018.
