We present a case of fatal necrotizing pneumonia with underlying influenza A (H3) infection. Next-generation-sequencing-based analysis revealed that the isolate harbored the newly recognized exfoliative toxin gene. Molecular epidemiologic analysis showed that the isolate belonged to the MSSA ST152 lineage, harboring PVL genes and co-located to as distinctive virulence factors. The gene is present in all isolates of this lineage co-located to the exotoxin gene , both implicated in the destruction of tissue integrity. We alert as to the global emergence of this lineage causing serious infections in patients.

This study is aimed at evaluating the cumulative effect of postnatal risk factors on the survival of preterm neonates by examining key clinical parameters and complications across various gestational ages. A retrospective cohort study was conducted using data from 1109 neonates admitted to neonatal intensive care units at two tertiary regional hospitals in Kazakhstan between 2021 and 2024. Patients were classified into three groups based on gestational age: extremely preterm (< 28 weeks, = 223), very preterm (28-31 weeks, = 384), and moderate to late preterm (32-36 weeks, = 502).

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) are a leading cause of death globally, responsible for 32% of all fatalities. They significantly reduce quality of life and life expectancy, while imposing a substantial economic burden on healthcare systems in different countries. High mobility group box 1 (HMGB1), a location-dependent multifunctional protein, plays a significant role in various cell death pathways associated with CVDs.

Objective: To analyze clinical data and predictors of mortality neonatal spontaneous gastric perforation (SGP).
Material And Methods: A two-center retrospective cohort study included neonates diagnosed with SGP between 1999 and 2023. This cohort was divided into survivors and dead neonates to identify prognostic factors of mortality.

Taenia crassiceps (Zeder, 1800), a zoonotic cestode with a wide geographical distribution, utilises canids as definitive hosts and small rodents as intermediate hosts. However, accidental infections in non-human primates, particularly in captive lemurs, have been increasingly documented. In this case report, we describe the first documented case of cysticercosis caused by the larval stage of T.

Acute or chronic liver damage can result in Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE), a potentially fatal neuropsychiatric condition that leads to cerebral and neurological alterations. Dapagliflozin (DAPA), an orally active Sodium/Glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitor with long duration of action. The study aim was to evaluate the potential protective impact of DAPA against HE caused by Thioacetamide (TAA) in rats.
