To improve the surface morphology quality of ultra-precision optical components, particularly in the suppression of mid-spatial frequency (MSF) errors, this paper proposes a morphology gradient-aware spatiotemporal coupled smoothing model based on convolutional material removal. By introducing the Laplacian curvature into the surface evolution framework, a curvature-sensitive "peak-priority" mechanism is established to dynamically guide the local dwell time. A nonlinear spatiotemporal coupling equation is constructed, in which the dwell time is adaptively modulated by surface gradient magnitude, local curvature, and periodic fluctuation terms. The material removal process is modeled as the convolution of a spatially invariant removal function with a locally varying dwell time distribution. Moreover, analytical evolution expressions of PV, RMS, and PSD metrics are derived, enabling a quantitative assessment of smoothing performance. Simulation results and experimental validations demonstrate that the proposed model can significantly improve smoothing performance and enhance MSF error suppression.

This article investigates the leader-following consensus of nonlinear TDMAS under impulsive control with simultaneous consideration of packet loss and parameter mismatch. Specifically, the inherent parameter mismatch between the leader's dynamics and followers' dynamics is explicitly addressed. To mitigate communication frequency, two novel impulsive control protocols are developed: 1) a pure impulsive scheme for theoretical analysis and 2) a limited impulsive strategy for practical implementation.

Dynamic actin filament remodeling is crucial for a plethora of fundamental cell biological processes, ranging from cell division and migration to cell communication, intracellular trafficking, or tissue development. Cytochalasin B (CB) and D (CD) are fungal secondary metabolites frequently used for interference with such processes. Although they are generally assumed to block actin filament polymerization at their rapidly growing barbed ends and compete with regulators at these sites, precise molecular understanding of their effects in dynamic actin structures requires further study.

Bap1-inspired peptides consisted of the 57 amino acid wild-type sequence (WT); a scrambled version of the WT used to investigate the impact of the primary amino acid sequence in pull-off forces (Scr); a ten amino acid sequence rich in hydrophobic content (CP) of the WT sequence, and an eight amino acid sequence (Sh1) that corresponds to the pseudo-repeating sequence in the 57 AA. SFA results showed remarkable pull-off forces for CP, particularly in the presence of salts: measured pull-off forces were 26.

species are ubiquitously distributed across both shallow and deep-sea hydrothermal vent ecosystems. Elemental sulfur (S°) reduction plays a pivotal role in their energy metabolism. While extensive characterization of the MBS and MBH pathways, along with their SurR-dependent regulatory network, has been established in shallow-water model strains, understanding of the high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) and sulfur-responsive regulation of these pathways in deep-sea lineages remains limited.

Optically variable features are widely used in product design and anti-counterfeiting. However, current industrial methods rely heavily on chemical inks, which pose environmental concerns and suffer from poor wear and corrosion resistance. We experimentally demonstrate the generation of non-iridescent yet angle-dependent structural colors on titanium surfaces using a nanosecond laser-induced oxidation.
