Background: Point-of-care ultrasonography has become a valuable tool for assessing diaphragmatic function in critically ill patients receiving invasive mechanical ventilation. However, conventional diaphragm ultrasound assessment remains highly operator-dependent and subjective. Purpose: To report a case of acute and transient accommodative insufficiency after laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK) due to coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Methods: Case report and literature review.
Results: A 36-year-old man complained of acute blurred near vision 7 days after uneventful bilateral hyperopic LASIK, concurrent with the onset of COVID-19 infection.

It can mimic other abdominal catastrophes and may be underrecognized, especially in young patients. Ureteropelvic junction obstruction (UPJO), characterised by prenatal or postnatal renal pelvis dilation, represents the primary cause of congenital paediatric hydronephrosis.
