Background: Angiography-derived radial wall strain (RWS) estimates the radial coronary wall deformation caused by pulsatile blood pressure, whereas superficial wall stress (SWS) summarizes the comprehensive wall deformation caused by both blood pressure and cardiac motion. This study sought to investigate the difference between RWS and SWS for the association with plaque vulnerability and the impact of cardiac motion on RWS.
Methods: Concurrent RWS, cardiac motion-induced bending angle change (ΔCBA), SWS, and optical coherence tomography image analyses were retrospectively performed in 49 eligible intermediate coronary lesions.

Postmortem tanning, previously referred to as either postmortem suntan or postmortem sunburn, presents as hyperpigmentation of sun-exposed uncovered skin. It most commonly occurs in decedents who remain in an environment in which the ambient temperature is either warm or hot; the areas of the corpse that are exposed to the sun develop hyperpigmentation. This postmortem change usually appears in the fresh (first) stage of decomposition.

BRAF inhibitors, among other targeted therapies, have transformed the treatment of many cancers in recent years. While cutaneous malignancies are a known adverse effect of BRAF inhibitors, the following case description highlights the importance of regularly monitoring patients on these therapies for new or changing skin lesions. A female in her 70s presented to the dermatology clinic with the sudden development of several new, dark nevi one month after the initiation of encorafenib with cetuximab for neuroendocrine carcinoma.

Background: Cerebral amyloid angiopathy (CAA) is a common cause of spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) in elderly individuals, and it is characterized by the deposition of amyloid β protein (Aß) in the walls of small-caliber cortical and leptomeningeal vessels. The diagnostic criteria for CAA highlight its association with spontaneous lobar hemorrhage, convexity subarachnoid hemorrhage (SAH), and cortical superficial siderosis but not with subdural hematoma (SDH). This article presents a three-patient case series of CAA who experienced a lobar ICH associated with an SDH, underscoring a potentially under-recognized correlation between an acute ICH and coexistent SDH.

Linezolid, an oxazolidinone antibiotic, is commonly used to treat Gram-positive skin infections and has additional off-label success in treating bone and soft tissue infections. Linezolid has been associated with adverse effects, particularly those that are hematologic and neurologic in nature. However, we present three orthopedic patients who developed oral pain and swelling of the circumvallate papillae after a 10-day course of linezolid therapy, without the characteristic color changes associated with black hairy tongue as previously reported in the literature.
