Aberrant left brachiocephalic vein (ALBCV), in which the vein passes posterior to the ascending aorta, is a rare vascular anomaly in adults without congenital heart disease. This condition can complicate venous cannulation during cardiac surgery. We report the case of a 78-year-old woman with severe mitral and tricuspid regurgitation.

In sports, creativity refers to the ability to make decisions that are original and unexpected, yet effective. Given the limited research on climbers' creativity and its underlying mechanisms, this study explored the role of climbing level and route previewing on climbers' creativity and their ability to find creative climbing solutions. Twenty-eight climbers (14 advanced and 14 elite) were tasked with climbing an Olympic boulder that offered two climbing options: an easily identifiable option beyond their climbing levels, and a creative option that, though less identifiable, was feasible for both groups.

Background: Intensive measures of well-being and behaviors in large epidemiologic cohorts have the potential to enhance health research in these areas. Yet, little is known regarding the feasibility of using mobile technology to collect intensive data in the "natural" environment in the context of ongoing large cohort studies.
Objective: We examined the feasibility of using smartphone digital phenotyping to collect highly resolved psychological and behavioral data from participants in a pilot study with participants in Nurses' Health Study II, a nationwide prospective cohort of women.

In synucleinopathies, the protein α-synuclein misfolds into Lewy bodies (LBs) in patients with Lewy body disease (LBD) or into glial cytoplasmic inclusions (GCIs) in patients with multiple system atrophy (MSA). The ability of a single misfolded protein to cause disparate diseases is explained by the prion strain hypothesis, which argues that protein conformation is a major determinant of disease. While structural, biochemical, and biological studies show that LBD and MSA patient samples contain distinct α-synuclein strains, we recently reported the unexpected finding of a novel α-synuclein strain in a Parkinson's disease with dementia patient sample containing GCI-like co-pathology along with widespread LB pathology.

Objectives: To determine the rate of successful humeral shaft nonunion repair in patients with no prior surgery on the humerus (failed nonoperative management), compared to patients with a history of prior surgery on the humerus (initial operative treatment complicated by nonunion, or prior attempted nonunion repair after failed nonoperative management).
Methods Design: Retrospective.
Setting: Two academic trauma centers (one level 1 and one level 2).
