Five undescribed clerodane and one labdane diterpenoids (1-6), together with six known diterpenoids (7-12), were isolated from the leaves of Callicarpa formosana Rolfe. Their structures were elucidated by HR-ESI-MS, NMR and ECD spectral data. The bioactivity screening showed (2R,5R,8S,9R,10S)-2-ethoxy-kolavic acid 15-methyl ester (4) displayed anti-inflammatory activity in vivo. In addition, (5S,8S,9R,10S)-kolavic acid (7) and 18-hydroxy-13-methyl-labda-7,13-diene-15-oic acid (12) showed hepatoprotective activity against APAP-induced toxicity in HepG-2 cells.
