Microwave peptide synthesis offers significant advantages for peptide production in speed, efficiency, and overall purity. This chapter surveys key developments including the introduction of a wash-free methodology that has enabled 95% waste reduction in peptide synthesis at both research and production level solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS). Microwave SPPS is a widely used technique for R&D scale peptide synthesis with more recent expansion into larger scale current good manufacturing practice (cGMP).

DDX6 is known to repress messenger RNA (mRNA) translation and promote mRNA decay in microRNA-mediated silencing. In embryonic stem cells (ESCs), DDX6 primarily functions at the translation level, independent of mRNA destabilization; however, the precise molecular mechanism of how DDX6 represses translation remains unclear. Here, we identify DDX3X as a key downstream target of DDX6-mediated translational repression in ESCs.

The 5' untranslated region (5'UTR) plays a crucial regulatory role in messenger RNA (mRNA), with modified 5'UTRs extensively utilized in vaccine production, gene therapy, etc. Nevertheless, manually optimizing 5'UTRs may encounter difficulties in balancing the effects of various cis-elements. Consequently, multiple 5'UTR libraries have been created, and machine learning models have been employed to analyze and predict translation efficiency (TE) and protein expression, providing insights into critical regulatory features.

In the current in vitro experiment, we fabricated and characterized placenta/platelet-rich plasma (PL/Pt) composite scaffolds and evaluated their effect on differentiating adipose stem cells (ASCs) into insulin-producing cells (IPCs) in vitro. The human placenta (PL) was decellularized (dPL), characterized, and digested in pepsin. PRP was extracted using a two-step centrifugation process and then freeze-dried.

Tea is consumed worldwide, and it is highly appreciated by consumers as a functional, healthy, and natural drink. The objectives of this research were to evaluate (1) the storage stability and (2) the consumption effect on biomarkers of oxidative stress of an antioxidant tea prepared from purple corn cob and stevia (AOxTea). The AOxTea bags were subjected to storage environments of 75 or 85 % of relative humidity at 30, 40 and 50 °C for up to 19 days.
