Purpose Of Review: In candidemia, the standard 14-day antifungal treatment after blood culture clearance has been long accepted, despite being based on limited and outdated evidence. This review discusses the rationale for re-evaluating treatment duration, in the context of growing interest in optimizing antifungal use.
Recent Findings: A small number of retrospective studies have explored shorter treatment courses in uncomplicated candidemia, suggesting similar outcomes in terms of mortality and recurrence compared to the traditional 14-day regimen.

Purpose: This study investigated the long-term progression of oscillatory potential (OP) implicit times (ITs) in individuals with preclinical diabetic retinopathy (DR) with and without levodopa (L-DOPA) treatment by quantifying functional and structural retinal changes.
Methods: Participants from the Motz et al. (2020) study were re-evaluated after 5 years, including individuals with diabetes mellitus (DM) who received L-DOPA treatment for 2 weeks (the DM + L-DOPA group; n = 14), those who did not (the DM group; n = 6), and non-diabetic healthy controls (the control group; n = 37).

In its first decade, The Journal of Pathology: Clinical Research has become a leading source of translational studies advancing molecular diagnostics in cancer, particularly in urologic pathology. This commentary highlights recent contributions that collectively place precision oncology at the forefront of pathology research. One review examines cancer stem cells in renal cell carcinoma, emphasizing the complexity of cellular plasticity and the tumor microenvironment in driving resistance and recurrence.

The analysis of the origin of chromothripsis, catastrophic chromosomal rearrangements, has provided exceptional insights into various aspects of tumor progression and genetic disorders. Findings in chromothripsis have not only enhanced our understanding of genomic instability mechanisms, but also reshaped our views on chromosome mechanics. To date, the major mechanisms of chromothripsis described involve the incorporation of micronuclei into the primary nucleus and telomere crisis through the formation of dicentric chromosomes.

Background: Although most meningiomas are benign, some behave aggressively despite low grade. We investigated the prognostic significance of TERT promoter (TERTp) mutations regarding clinicopathological features, heterogeneity, and outcomes.
Methods: A total of 165 meningiomas diagnosed between 2007 and 2019 were retrospectively re-evaluated according to the 2021 WHO CNS classification.
