Unlabelled: The study was designed to supersede chicken meat protein with Indian plant based pulse proteins. Pulse protein concentrates were extracted via alkaline/isoelectric precipitation from Vigna radiate (green gram), (horse gram), (cowpea) and (yellow pea). Results revealed that the protein content of pulse protein concentrates ranged from 79 to 87%. The protein concentrates of green gram and yellow pea showed highest lightness (L*) compared to cowpea and horse gram based proteins. The color properties of protein concentrates were significantly different ( < 0.05). The more is fibrous raw materials; lower will be the hardness of meat analogues. Sensory evaluation results reported that T1 was more consistent with control sample in terms of color, texture, juiciness and overall acceptability and no significant difference was reported among the two ( > 0.05). The L* and b* values of T1 were more consistent with control compared to other two. T1 had consistent fracturability, hardness, cohesiveness, and adhesiveness, and was superior in springiness, gumminess, resilience, and chewiness compared to the control. Potato starch, salt, spice mix, coriander leaves, beet root pulp, jackfruit seed powder, rose water and rehydrated mushrooms showed a positive imfact on sensory and textural attributes. These results suggest that the composite pulse protein concentrates with T1 formulation was more acceptable having the potential to mimic conventional chicken meatballs.

Retinol binding protein 4 (RBP4), the circulating carrier of retinol, complexes with transthyretin (TTR) and is a potential biomarker of cardiometabolic disease. However, RBP4 quantitation relies on immunoassays and Western blots without retinol and TTR measurement. A liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) method for the simultaneous absolute quantitation of circulating RBP4 and TTR is critical to establishing their biomarker potential.

Effective mosquito control is essential for reducing the transmission of vector-borne diseases. This study focuses on the comprehensive characterization of mosquitocidal toxins produced by Bacillus thuringiensis serovar israelensis (Bti) VCRC B646 and the associated insecticidal genes. The bacterium was cultured, and the spore-crystal complex was purified to identify the mosquitocidal proteins.

Microbial contamination of absorbable collagen membranes used in guided bone regeneration (GBR) may compromise healing outcomes. This study aimed to investigate whether the minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) of hydrogen peroxide (HO) can improve the antibacterial effect of indocyanine green (ICG)-mediated antimicrobial photodynamic therapy (PDT) on absorbable collagen membranes while reducing the need for high HO concentrations. A laboratory-based model was developed using Streptococcus sanguinis and Staphylococcus aureus.

Background: The dysregulation of long-chain noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs) causes several complex human diseases including neurodegenerative disorders across the globe.
Methods And Results: This study aimed to investigate lncRNA expression profiles of Withania somnifera (WS)-treated human neuroblastoma SK-N-SH cells at different timepoints (3 & 9 h) and concentrations (50 & 100 µg/mL) using RNA sequencing. Differential gene expression analysis showed a total of 4772 differentially expressed lncRNAs, out of which 3971 were upregulated and 801 were downregulated compared to controls.

Background: The protective function of the tetrandrine (TET)-mediated transient receptor potential vanilloid 2 (TRPV2) channel in myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury (MI/RI) has been established in numerous investigations. The objective of the current study was to explain how TRPV2 further modulates downstream factors to influence the progression of MI/RI.
Methods: To this end, an MI/RI model in rats and a hypoxia-reoxygenation (H/R) cell model in H9c2 cells were constructed.
