The article discusses advanced three-dimensional evaluation of hallux valgus deformity using weightbearing computed tomography. Conventional two-dimensional radiographs fall short in assessing the complexity of hallux valgus deformities, whereas weightbearing computed tomography provides detailed insights into bone alignment and joint stability in a weightbearing state. Recent studies have highlighted the significance of first ray hypermobility and intrinsic metatarsal rotation in hallux valgus, influencing surgical planning and outcomes. The integration of semiautomatic and artificial intelligence-assisted tools with weightbearing computed tomography is enhancing the precision of deformity assessment, leading to more personalized and effective hallux valgus management.

Objective: Hirudotherapy (HT), the therapeutic use of medicinal leeches, has been practised for centuries, and the interest in modern medicine has recently been renewed. This study evaluates the clinical outcomes of HT at Herba Medical Center in Azerbaijan between 2020 and 2024, focusing on its efficacy across 11 medical conditions.
Methods: A total of 181 patients were treated using disposable medicinal leeches () sourced from hygienic farms approved by Azerbaijan's Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources.

Despite known associations with gender, age, and footwear, the prevalence of HV and its associated risk factors in Japan remain unclear. Introduction: We developed a smartphone application capable of automatically measuring the hallux valgus angle (HVA) and various intermetatarsal angles by capturing radiographic images displayed on a monitor. This study aimed to evaluate the accuracy of these measurements using the application.
Methods: Three users-a board-certified orthopedic surgeon, a resident, and a nonhealthcare professional (Users 1, 2, and 3)-independently used the application to measure angles on 92 radiographs from 92 consecutive patients.

Background: Hallux valgus (HV) is a common deformity of the hallux, which affects the functional ability of patients and reduces their quality of life. The American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (AOFAS) Hallux Metatarsophalangeal (MTP)-Interphalangeal (IP) scale is a questionnaire widely used to comprehensively assess the condition of hallux deformities. The purpose of this study was to translate the AOFAS-MTP-IP scale into a Chinese version (AOFAS-MTP-IP-CV), conduct cross-cultural adaptation, and simultaneously evaluate its validity and reliability.
