Objective: To determine optimal CT perfusion (CTP) imaging parameters for evaluating the canine prostate and to assess the diagnostic utility of CTP combined with cytopathologic evaluation and B-Raf proto-oncogene (BRAF) gene mutation testing in dogs with prostate adenocarcinoma.

Methods: For this study, 10 male dogs were enrolled, comprising 4 healthy Beagles and 6 client-owned dogs with suspected prostatic neoplasia. Computed tomography perfusion was performed in the healthy dogs using varied contrast agent doses and injection durations.

In the event of a large-scale radiological or nuclear emergency, a rapid, high-throughput screening tool will be essential for efficient triage of potentially exposed individuals, optimizing scarce medical resources and ensuring timely care. The objective of this work was to characterize the effects of age and sex on two intracellular lymphocyte protein biomarkers, BAX and p53, for early radiation exposure classification in the human population, using an imaging flow cytometry-based platform for rapid biomarker quantification in whole blood samples. Peripheral blood samples from male and female donors, across three adult age groups (young adult, middle-aged, senior) and a juvenile cohort, were X-irradiated (0-5 Gy), and biomarker expression was quantified at two- and three-days post-exposure.

Purpose: Non-adherence to inhaled medication poses a significant clinical and economic burden on patients with respiratory diseases. This narrative review provides an overview of key aspects of hair analysis, in general and specific for inhaled medications, and explores the potential of hair analysis as a novel tool to monitor adherence to inhaled medications.

Methods: PubMed searches were conducted to explore four aspects: (1) mechanisms of (inhaled) drug's systemic absorption and deposition in hair; (2) quantification of drugs in hair; (3) factors impacting (inhaled) drug hair concentrations; and (4) clinical studies assessing inhaled medication adherence through hair analysis.

Objectives: The escalating global incidence of obesity, cardiometabolic disease and sarcopenia necessitates reliable body composition measurement tools. MRI-based assessment is the gold standard, with utility in both clinical and drug trial settings. This study aims to validate a new automated volumetric MRI method by comparing with manual ground truth, prior volumetric measurements, and against a new method for semi-automated single-slice area measurements.

Background: At present, existing risk scores together with traditional biomarkers such as troponin and brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) are still unable to accurately predict cancer therapy-related cardiac dysfunction (CTRCD). MicroRNAs (miRNAs) have emerged as promising biomarkers for improved identification of high-risk patients; however, limited studies have been performed in patients with HER2-positive breast cancer.

Objectives: To investigate the predictive potential of six serum-derived circulating miRNAs for CTRCD occurrence in patients with early-stage HER2-positive breast cancer receiving trastuzumab (TTZ).
