Article Abstract

An effective approach for the synthesis of -vinylaromatic sulfonamides using copper-catalyzed deoxygenative cross-coupling of epoxides and sulfonamides has been reported. This method allows for easy synthesis of a number of -vinylsulfonamides under mild reaction conditions. This protocol is notable for its utilization of an affordable and easy-to-handle wide range of N-substituted sulfonamides, cheap and readily available copper catalysts, robust functional group tolerance, and good to excellent yields. The developed method was also applied to large-scale syntheses.
