Targeted temperature management (TTM) is currently the only potentially neuroprotective intervention recommended for post-cardiac arrest care. However, there are concerns among the scientific community regarding conflicting evidence supporting this recommendation. Moreover, the bulk of trials included in systematic reviews that inform guidelines and recommendations have been conducted in developed countries, with case mix and patient characteristics that significantly differ from the reality of developing countries such as Brazil.

Population-wide screening may accelerate the decline of tuberculosis (TB) incidence, but the optimal screening algorithm and duration must weigh resource considerations. We calibrated a deterministic transmission model to TB epidemiology in Viet Nam. We simulated three population-wide screening algorithms from 2025: sputum nucleic acid amplification tests (NAAT, Xpert MTB/RIF Ultra) only; chest radiography (CXR) followed by NAAT; and CXR-only without microbiological confirmation.

Objectives: To describe the research principles and cohort characteristics of the multi-disciplinary Project HERCULES, an innovative model of safe high-volume outpatient eye-care service for patients with stable chronic eye diseases. Results and analyses of the workstreams within Project HERCULES will be reported elsewhere. The rationale was to improve eye-care capacity in the National Health Service (NHS) in England through the creation of technician-delivered monitoring in a large retail-unit in a London shopping-centre, with remote asynchronous review of results by clinicians (named Eye-Testing and Review through Asynchronous Clinic (Eye-TRAC)).

Purpose Of Review: This review aims to characterize the known cardiovascular (CV) manifestations associated with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and the underlying mechanisms driving these associations.
Recent Findings: Gut dysbiosis, a hallmark of patients with IBD, can result in both local and systemic inflammation, thereby potentially increasing the risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the IBD population. Micronutrient deficiencies, anemia, and sarcopenia independently increase the risk of CVD and are frequent comorbidities of patients with IBD.

Introduction: This study investigated the effect of sandblasting time and primer type on the shear bond strength of composite attachments to full-contour zirconia crowns.
Methods: A total of 108 zirconia specimens were fabricated and divided into 9 groups (n = 12) according to sandblasting time (10, 30, and 60 seconds) and primer type (silane, 10-methacryloyloxydecyl dihydrogen phosphate [MDP], universal). After sandblasting with 110-μm alumina particles, specimens were primed, and attachments were bonded using a packable composite.
