Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumors are rare embryonal tumors of the nervous system mainly seen in very young children with aggressive behavior and dismal prognosis when treated with conventional chemotherapy only. More recent multimodal strategies combining, variably, high dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy and or intrathecal chemotherapy have led to some stride in survival. We present the results of the most recent clinical trials and registry data for patients treated with these multimodal approaches with survival ranging from 37.1% to 88.9%. We review the current consensus of the molecular characterization of these tumors into 3 subgroups (ATRT-TYR, ATRT-SHH and ATRT-MYC) and discuss the potential clinical impact of molecular subgrouping on survival. We explore other therapeutic tools including intrathecal chemotherapy and maintenance and possible new targeted agents for patients failing multimodal strategies.

Human communication is remarkable for its flexibility, a trait largely reflected in its multimodal nature and shared to some extent with nonhuman primates. Although individual differences in social behaviour are known to have evolutionary implications, their role in shaping primate communication remains largely unexplored. This study adopts a multimodal framework to partition variation in chimpanzees' use of multicomponent and multisensory communicative strategies into socio-environmental, between-individual, and within-individual sources.

Escalating concentrations of norfloxacin (NFX) in surface and wastewaters demand sustainable remediation strategies. In this study, dual-functional hydrochars were synthesized from argan nut shells (ArNS) via hydrothermal carbonization (HTC), with process conditions optimized by varying temperature (150-200 °C) and residence time (2-6 h). Among the materials, H1:5@150-4-prepared at 150 °C for 4 h with a biomass-to-water ratio of 1:5-exhibited the best performance, achieving a monolayer NFX adsorption capacity of 27.

Purpose: To describe the clinical and multimodal imaging features of a novel form of macular neovascularization (MNV), designated Type 4 MNV, defined by mixed Type 1 and Type 2 neovascularization (NV), extensive intraretinal anastomotic NV, and central posterior hyaloid fibrosis (CPHF).
Methods: This multicenter retrospective observational case series included patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD) exhibiting both Type 1 and 2 MNV and an overlying anastomotic intraretinal NV network. This was confirmed with OCT and OCT angiography (OCTA).

Drug-target interaction (DTI) prediction is essential for the development of novel drugs and the repurposing of existing ones. However, when the features of drug and target are applied to biological networks, there is a lack of capturing the relational features of drug-target interactions. And the corresponding multimodal models mainly depend on shallow fusion strategies, which results in suboptimal performance when trying to capture complex interaction relationships.

Force prediction is crucial for functional rehabilitation of the upper limb. Surface electromyography (sEMG) signals play a pivotal role in muscle force studies, but its non-stationarity challenges the reliability of sEMG-driven models. This problem may be alleviated by fusion with electrical impedance myography (EIM), an active sensing technique incorporating tissue morphology information.
