Purpose: This prospective, single-arm, multicentre study evaluated the effectiveness of 10 kHz spinal cord stimulation (SCS) in relieving pain and improving function and quality of life in patients with chronic intractable leg pain in routine clinical practice.
Methods: Patients with leg pain refractory to conservative therapy and scoring ≥ 5 cm on a 10-cm visual analog scale (VAS) were enrolled at 12 centres. Those who achieved ≥ 50% leg pain relief during a temporary trial underwent permanent implantation and were followed for 12 months. Outcomes collected included the proportion of patients who achieved ≥ 50% reduction in leg pain VAS score, health-related quality-of-life (EQ-5D-5 L, functional disability [ODI]), opioid use, sleep quality (PSQ-3), global impression of change (GIC), and patient satisfaction.
Results: Of 121 patients trialed, 118 completed the trial and 95 proceeded to implant. At 3 months, 61/95 (64.2%) of all implanted patients were responders to therapy (≥ 50% VAS reduction), which remained stable at 64.2% through 12 months. EQ-5D-5 L, ODI, and PSQ-3 showed clinically important and sustained improvement over 12 months (repeated measures ANOVA, p < 0.001). Patients also reduced opioid dosage on average (p = 0.022). The safety profile was consistent with previous reports using 10 kHz SCS.
Conclusion: This study supports 10 kHz SCS as an effective and safe therapeutic option to reduce pain and disability while improving health-related quality of life in patients with chronic intractable leg pain. 10 kHz SCS appears to be effective in significantly improving the severe disability and poor quality of life experienced by patients with chronic intractable leg pain.

Purpose: This study aims to assess the outcomes of combining oblique lumbar interbody fusion (OLIF) with anterolateral screw fixation (ASF) and stress endplate augmentation (SEA) in comparison to OLIF combined with pedicle screw fixation (PSF) for the treatment of degenerative lumbar spinal stenosis (DLSS) in patients with osteoporosis (OP).
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of patients diagnosed with DLSS who underwent OLIF in conjunction with either SEA and ASF (SEA-ASF group) or PSF (PSF group). Clinical outcomes, including the visual analog scale (VAS) scores for lumbar and leg pain, as well as the Oswestry Disability Index (ODI), were assessed at various postoperative intervals and compared to preoperative values.

Atypical proximal tibial fractures in adolescents are rare, particularly when linked to hormonal therapy for short stature. This case series reports the clinical and imaging features of atypical proximal tibial and distal femoral physeal fractures in male adolescents undergoing combined growth hormone (GH) and aromatase inhibitor (AI) therapy for idiopathic short stature. We report three cases of skeletally immature male adolescents (ages 12-16) treated with GH and anastrozole who presented with acute leg pain following low-energy trauma during soccer.

Introduction: Restless legs syndrome (RLS) is a common sensorimotor disorder that primarily affects the lower extremities. This condition is characterized by unpleasant sensations and an irresistible urge to move the affected body regions, typically during periods of rest or at night. While RLS most commonly involves the legs, atypical variants affecting other body parts, including the arms, abdomen, face, and even the head, have increasingly been reported.

Spontaneous arterial dissection regarding the superficial femoral artery (SFA) is known to be an uncommon finding, and this clinical entity, when noted bilaterally, is exceptionally rare. Diagnosis is typically achieved by imaging modalities such as angio-tomography (angio-CT) or arteriography. This case report involves a 78-year-old male patient with a history of hypertension (HTN), cardiovascular disease, and arrhythmias who presented with leg pain and aches.

This report presents the case of a 36-year-old man complaining of chronic low back pain and numbness along the posterolateral surface of the right leg. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a disc degeneration and protrusion at the L-S level and an extensive fluid-equivalent formation with a craniocaudal dimension of 8 cm at the S-S level. Initially, due to the minimal clinical complaints, the cyst was considered asymptomatic.
