Article Abstract

sp. strain 198 is a microalga with potential for the biotechnological production of carotenoids. In this study, we have sequenced the genome, obtaining a total contig-level genome assembly length of 149 Mbp. The BUSCO completeness was 91%, the N50 was 783 kbp, and the total number of annotated genes was 19,841.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the epidemiological characteristics of tinea capitis (TC) and the changing trend of the pathogenic fungal spectrum in Hangzhou to assess the thermal tolerance of these pathogenic dermatophytes at 37°C.

Methods: Clinical, demographic, and mycological data of 454 TC patients were retrospectively collected.

Results: Among children with TC, 198 were females and 201 were males, with a median age of 5 years.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, older adults and their caregivers reported reduced autonomy and disruptions in medical care and community-based services such as adult day centers, and these disruptions likely had the greatest impact on caregivers from health disparity populations. We utilize data on adult child caregivers to the oldest-old from two complementary datasets, the Hispanic Establish Population for the Epidemiologic Study of the Elderly Caregiver Supplement (HEPESE CG, 2021) and the National Health and Aging Trends COVID-19 Family Members and Friends Dataset (NHATS FF, 2020-2021). We identify the relationship between financial strain and both mental well-being and sleep health for non-Hispanic White (NH White, n = 198), non-Hispanic Black (NH Black, n = 44), and Mexican American (n = 66) caregivers.

Background: A typical echocardiographic longitudinal strain (LS) pattern of the left ventricle called strain reversus (SR) has been described in patients with constrictive pericarditis (CP). The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of SR among pericardial diseases, its diagnostic role in CP, and its correlation with pericardial involvement assessed using cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR).

Methods: Eighty-five patients (mean age, 57 ± 17 years; 32.

Aminoglycosides (AGs) are broad-spectrum antibiotics effective against Gram-negative bacteria, with uptake dependent on membrane potential. However, the mechanisms of AG entry remain incompletely understood. Here, we identify a previously undescribed uptake pathway via carbohydrate transporters in .

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) poses a serious global health threat, reducing the efficacy of existing treatments due to the emergence of resistant strains such as ESBL-producing bacteria and drug-resistant fungi. This study investigates the antibacterial, antifungal, and antioxidant properties of five medicinal herbs-Vala, Manjistha, Clove, Sandalwood, and Cinnamon-and their polyherbal blend. The alcoholic extract of the blend showed notable antibacterial activity, with a maximum inhibition zone of 4 mm.
