Objective: The primary rationale of the study is to assess the biomechanical aspects of Champy's, monoplanar, biplanar, and 3D strut plating systems using an model in the management of the angle of mandible fracture.
Methods: Thirty-two hemi-sectioned mandibles ( = 32) were obtained from adult goats and divided into four groups ( = 8) for different plating techniques: monoplanar, biplanar, Champy's, and three-dimensional curved angle strut plating. A customized biomechanical test machine simulated masticatory loads by applying compressive forces. Force versus displacement data were recorded using an Instron Lloyd LRX machine.
Results: Plating techniques with two plates exhibited higher resistance to displacement than single-plate techniques. The three-dimensional curved angle strut plate group had the highest mean compressive strength (184.7913 N), followed by biplanar plating (170.29 N), monoplanar plating (159.3419 N), and Champy's plating (55.48375 N). Statistical analysis showed significant differences between the three-dimensional curved angle strut plating technique and Champy's plating technique ( value ≤ 0.0016*), as well as between the biplanar plating technique and Champy's plating technique ( value ≤ 0.0010*).
Conclusion: The three-dimensional curved angle strut plate and biplanar plating techniques exhibited superior biomechanical performance compared to monoplanar and Champy's plating techniques.

We aim to describe an approach for reducing the posteriorly dislocated humeral head through the rotator interval via a deltopectoral approach that is frequently utilized for internal fixation of proximal humerus fractures and fracture dislocations. The sheath of the long head of biceps (LHB) and the rotator interval capsule are opened till the glenoid; this enables access to the glenohumeral joint via the rotator interval. A long-handle Cobb elevator is introduced through the rotator interval and, under intraoperative imaging, advanced posteromedially to the dislocated humeral head.

Objective: We designed a new distractor pairing a bioabsorbable upper fixing plate fixed by bioabsorbable screws with a traditional titanium distractor to simplify the second surgery removing the distractor after mandibular distraction osteogenesis. The present study aims to evaluate its biomechanical properties using finite element method.
Materials And Methods: Ten computer-aided designed models simulating mandibles of 5 patients under 2 working conditions, the instance of distraction and mastication, were produced.

Orbital floor fractures can lead to enophthalmos and diplopia, often requiring surgical intervention to restore orbital volume. Autologous iliac bone grafts are commonly used due to their biocompatibility and mechanical stability, but achieving adequate fixation remains a challenge. Traditional fixation methods, such as plates and screws, may introduce risks of foreign body reactions, graft displacement, and surgical morbidity.

Objective: Assessment of submarining occurrence in PMHS (Post-Mortem Human Subject) testing can be challenging, particularly for obese PMHS. This study investigates varied kinetic and kinematic response parameters as potential indicators of submarining. Data from 36 whole-body PMHS frontal sled tests conducted under varying boundary conditions were analyzed, incorporating three spring-controlled seat configurations, two extreme anthropometric profiles, two crash pulses, and two seatback angles.
