Background And Aims: Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), including Crohn's disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC), remain heterogeneous disorders with variable response to biologics. Post-operative recurrence in CD is common despite surgery and prophylactic biotherapies. Understanding the inflammatory mediators associated with recurrence and treatment response could pave the way for personalized strategies.

Chronic myelomonocytic leukemia (CMML) is an aggressive hematologic neoplasm characterized by an expansion of CD123 monocytes and plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs). pDC bone marrow clusters in CMML have been associated with higher rates of acute myeloid leukemia transformation. We evaluated tagraxofusp, a CD123-targeted therapy, in a phase 1/2 trial for patients with CMML.

Intestinal inflammation particularly inflammatory bowel disease poses significant clinical challenges due to its chronic nature, limited treatment efficacy and adverse effects of conventional therapies like corticosteroids and biologics. Biomimetic nanocarriers have emerged as a transformative strategy to overcome these limitations by leveraging natural cell membranes for targeted drug delivery. This review critically examines the application of biomimetic nanocarriers as precision therapeutics for intestinal inflammation.

Case Report: Abscopal effect and long-term survival in a PD-L1 negative NSCLC patient treated with radiotherapy and immuno-chemotherapy.

Front Immunol

September 2025

Department of Radiation Oncology, Jiangxi Cancer Hospital and Institute, Jiangxi Clinical Research Center for Cancer, The Second Affiliated Hospital of Nanchang Medical College, Nanchang, Jiangxi, China.

We present a case of a 68-year-old male with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC), PD-L1 negative and driver gene negative, who exhibited a significant abscopal effect following radiotherapy combined with systemic immunotherapy (sintilizumab) and chemotherapy. The patient achieved complete remission (CR) of intracranial metastases without cranial irradiation, suggesting a systemic immune response triggered by the combination of radiotherapy and immunotherapy. This case highlights the potential of radiotherapy combined with immuno-chemotherapy to induce abscopal effects, even in PD-L1 negative patients, and underscores the importance of further investigation into this therapeutic strategy.

Efficacy and safety of obinutuzumab in primary membranous nephropathy: a real-world retrospective study.

Front Immunol

September 2025

Department of Nephrology, Kidney Disease Medical Center, Tianjin Medical University General Hospital, National Key Clinical Specialty, Tianjin Key Medical Discipline, Tianjin, China.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of obinutuzumab, a novel anti-CD20 monoclonal antibody, in patients with primary membranous nephropathy (pMN).

Methods: Fifty-five patients with pMN treated with obinutuzumab were respectively enrolled in this study. Clinical and immunological response, renal function and adverse events were assessed throughout the follow-up period between patients receiving obinutuzumab as initial therapy and alternative therapy.
