Capturing the dynamic changes in patients' internal states as they approach death due to fatal diseases remains a major challenge in understanding individual pathologies and improving end-of-life care. However, existing methods primarily focus on specific test values or organ dysfunction markers, failing to provide a comprehensive view of the evolving internal state preceding death. To address this, we analyzed electronic health record (EHR) data from a single institution, including 8,976 cancer patients and 77 laboratory parameters, by constructing continuous mortality prediction models based on gradient-boosting decision trees and leveraging them for temporal analyses.

Postoperative fatigue (POF) and perioperatively acquired muscle weakness (POAW) are significant yet often under-recognised interlinked postoperative complications that can significantly hinder postoperative recovery and diminish overall quality of life after surgery. Despite advancements in surgical and anaesthetic techniques and the widespread implementation of Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) protocols, these conditions remain prevalent. In the weeks following surgery, reported incidences of fatigue of any severity range from 10% to as high as 90%, depending on the patient population.

Introduction: Efforts to strengthen healthcare systems have led to the development of clinical practice guidance, defined as clinical decision-making aids built on scientific evidence, experiential knowledge, and ideally, patient values. This review evaluates the accessibility, relevance, and quality of existing trauma guidance globally.
Methods: A systematic review evaluated trauma-related clinical guidance sources published from 2016 to 2023, searching in English across eight databases and 28 professional society websites.

Goldenhar syndrome, a rare congenital condition, often presents with physical anomalies due to abnormal development of the first and second branchial arches, leading to facial and auricular malformations. However, the mental health challenges associated with this syndrome are often overlooked. This report describes the case of a 14-year-old Latino/Hispanic male child with Goldenhar syndrome and limited verbal communication, highlighting the complexities of managing both physical and psychological aspects of care after establishing follow-up with a pediatrician.

Background: This study aimed to evaluate how subscapularis tendon repair influences joint loads in relation to humeral offset and arm position.
Patients And Methods: Two fresh-frozen, whole-body cadaveric shoulders underwent a reverse total shoulder arthroplasty (rTSA) on the humeral side using an internal proprietary load-sensing system (LSS) (Goldilocks, Statera Medical, Montreal, Canada). In addition to three "complex" Activity Daily Life positions ("behind the back", "overhead reach", and "across the chest"), four standard postures (external rotation, extension, abduction, and flexion) were used to record the glenohumeral loads (Newtons) and their locations applied to the implant.
