Article Abstract

Quantum information scrambling refers to the spread of the initially stored information over many degrees of freedom of a quantum many-body system. Information scrambling is intimately linked to the thermalization of isolated quantum many-body systems, and has been typically studied in a sudden quench scenario. Here, we extend the notion of quantum information scrambling to critical quantum many-body systems undergoing an adiabatic evolution. In particular, we analyze how the symmetry-breaking information of an initial state is scrambled in adiabatically driven integrable systems, such as the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick and quantum Rabi models. Following a time-dependent protocol that drives the system from symmetry-breaking to a normal phase, we show how the initial information is scrambled, even for perfect adiabatic evolutions, as indicated by the expectation value of a suitable observable. We detail the underlying mechanism for quantum information scrambling, its relation to ground- and excited-state quantum phase transitions, and quantify the degree of scrambling in terms of the number of eigenstates that participate in the encoding of the initial symmetry-breaking information. While the energy of the final state remains unaltered in an adiabatic protocol, the relative phases among eigenstates are scrambled, and so is the symmetry-breaking information. We show that a potential information retrieval, following a time-reversed protocol, is hindered by small perturbations, as indicated by a vanishingly small Loschmidt echo and out-of-time-ordered correlators. The reported phenomenon is amenable for its experimental verification, and may help in the understanding of information scrambling in critical quantum many-body systems.

Quantum information scrambling, which describes the propagation and effective loss of local information, is crucial for understanding the dynamics of quantum many-body systems. We report the observation of anomalous information scrambling in an atomic tweezer array with dominant van der Waals interaction. We characterize information spreading by an out-of-time-order correlator and observe persistent oscillations inside a suppressed linear light cone for the initial Néel state.

We report the synthesis of a tritopic ligand, , composed of two strongly binding lanthanide (Ln) sites using tris-functionalized triazacyclononane (tacn) scaffolds bridged by a weaker Ln binding triethylene glycol chain. Coordination chemistry of Ln (Ln = Eu, Tb, Yb, Lu) was investigated by using NMR and photoluminescent spectroscopies. The first two Ln ions are coordinated by the tacn scaffolds to form [Ln] and [Ln] species, followed by tri- and tetranuclear complexes, [Ln(Ln)] and [Ln(Ln)].

Quantum watermarking technology embeds invisible watermark images into carrier images to mark ownership, which has broad application prospects. In the paper, with using the novel enhanced quantum representation (NEQR) of the image, a quantum watermarking scheme based on a novel space geometric transformation and Fibonacci scrambling is proposed. Combined with the Quantum Majority Finder (QMF) method, the watermark information is embedded into various positions of the carrier image.

Frequency estimation, a cornerstone of basic and applied sciences, has been significantly enhanced by quantum sensing strategies. Despite breakthroughs in quantum-enhanced frequency estimation, key challenges remain: static probes limit flexibility, and the interplay between resource efficiency, sensing precision, and potential enhancements from nonlinear probes remains not fully understood. In this Letter, we show that dynamically encoding an unknown frequency in a nonlinear quantum electromagnetic field can significantly improve frequency estimation.
