Introduction: Climate change is raising global temperatures, leading to more extreme heat events, even in temperate climates like Aotearoa|New Zealand (A|NZ). The impact of rising temperatures and the adequacy of planning measures remain underexplored. This paper highlights A|NZ's anticipated heat-health challenges by analyzing vulnerable populations and assessing current response systems, thereby reinforcing the need for system-level redress, mitigation and adaptation.
Content: A scoping review examined the impact of heat and existing mitigation and adaptation responses for vulnerable populations in temperate regions, with a focus on A|NZ. Additionally, temperature trend analysis was conducted for current and projected trends using Climate CHIP for six major heat-affected cities in A|NZ to assess the recognition of heat as a societal concern.
Summary And Outlook: The review identified mitigation and adaptation strategies for existing vulnerable groups and discovered other potential vulnerable groups in A|NZ, including Indigenous people (Māori), Pacific communities, low-income groups, migrants, and visitors. Temperature trends show an increasing pattern, suggesting heightened future heat-related impacts on these populations. This review reveals A|NZ's growing vulnerability to rising temperatures, particularly among high-risk groups, and calls for stronger mitigation and adaptation strategies to address future heat-health risks.

Introduction: Fermented buffalo milk products from South Asia remain an underexplored source of microbial diversity with potential health-promoting benefits. This study investigates the probiotic and industrial suitability of lactic acid bacteria (LAB) and non-LAB isolates from traditional Pakistani dairy, addressing gaps in region-specific probiotic discovery.
Methods: Forty-seven bacterial isolates were obtained from fermented buffalo milk products (yogurt and cheese).

The frequency and severity of heat waves are expected to worsen with climate change. Exposure to extreme heat, or prolonged unusually high temperatures, are associated with increased morbidity and mortality. The fetus, infant, and young child are more sensitive to higher temperatures than older children and most adults given that they are rapidly developing.

In vitro simulation of rumen fermentation is critical for improving feed efficiency, assessing dietary interventions, and supporting methane mitigation strategies in ruminant production systems. However, existing fermentation platforms are often expensive, technically complex, or poorly suited for long-term microbial viability under near-rumen conditions-especially in resource-limited settings. This study presents the development and validation of a modular, low-cost engineered to replicate key physiological parameters of the rumen, including temperature control (39-40 °C), continuous buffering via artificial saliva infusion, anaerobic regulation, and simulated motility through mixing pumps.

The steer-by-wire (SbW) system, as the core component of vehicle steering, needs to track the front wheel angle accurately. To mitigate the angle tracking accuracy degradation caused by D-Q axes coupling, time-varying motor electrical parameters, and load disturbance, a fractional-order adaptive fuzzy decentralized tracking control (FAFDTC) strategy is proposed in this paper. First, considering time-varying motor parameters, D-Q axes coupling, and fractional-order characteristics of components, a fractional-order SbW interconnected system is constructed to enhance its ability to characterize nonlinearities, time-varying dynamics, and system coupling.

Neuromuscular diseases are often accompanied by various types of sleep-related breathing disorders, which can exacerbate the underlying condition and are associated with a poor prognosis.
