Introduction: EUS-guided gallbladder drainage (EUS-GBD) is recognized as an effective minimally invasive alternative technique mainly in managing patients with acute cholecystitis not eligible for cholecystectomy and, more recently, for jaundice relief in inoperable patients with distant malignant biliary obstruction.
Areas Covered: This review provides an extensive guide to the actual role of EUS-GBD. A comprehensive search was conducted, including articles pertinent to this review's aims.

Endoscopic management of benign pancreaticobiliary disorders encompasses a range of procedures designed to address complications in gallstone disease, choledocholithiasis, and pancreatic disorders. Acute cholecystitis is typically treated with cholecystectomy or percutaneous drainage (PT-GBD), but for high-risk or future surgical candidates, alternative decompression methods, such as endoscopic transpapillary gallbladder drainage (ETP-GBD), and endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided gallbladder drainage (EUS-GBD), are effective. PT-GBD is associated with significant discomfort as well as variable adverse event rates.

Objective: Aim: To analyse in detail the incidence of POAP after urgent abdominal and endoscopic transpapillary surgical interventions.
Patients And Methods: Materials and Methods: A retrospective analysis of 52 clinical cases of POAP was done, among which 27 patients developed POAP after urgent abdominal interventions and 25 patients - after endoscopic transpapillary interventions.
Results: Results: The incidence of POAP after urgent surgical interventions consisted 0,3%, after endoscopic transpapillary interventions - 18,25%.
