Introduction: The optimal surveillance for mucinous appendix cancer (MAC) after cytoreductive surgery and hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (CRS/HIPEC) remains unclear. We identified postoperative periods reflecting significant changes in recurrence probability.
Methods: A prospective database (1998-2024) of patients with stage IV MAC with low-grade (LGMCP), high-grade (HGMCP), and signet-ring cell (SRC) histology treated with initial complete (CC-0/1) CRS/HIPEC was analyzed.
Relative survival among cancer survivors enrolled in private cancer insurance in Japan, using the internal insurance-enrolled population as the reference.

Background: Limited data are available on relative survival (RS) among cancer survivors enrolled in private cancer insurance in Japan. Additionally, the incidence of second primary cancers or recurrences, as applicable, after a certain period remains unclear.
Methods: We analyzed 8,846 cancer survivors, including carcinoma in situ, aged 15-79 years, enrolled in private cancer insurance between April 2005 and September 2021, and diagnosed before April 2022.

Barley is the main raw material for the production of malted beverages. However, it is an important source of food that is gaining attention due to its composition and numerous health benefits. Considering the emerging trend in the development of functional foods, this study used bibliometric analysis to assess the cumulative literature on the impact of drying, storage, and industrial processing (which are crucial for the development of functional foods) on the nutritional value of barley.
