Background Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) has been increasingly associated with heightened cardiovascular and thrombotic risk. This study aimed to evaluate hemostatic and metabolic profiles in women with GDM to explore early markers of vascular dysfunction. Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) is a progressive fibrosing lung disease characterized by chronic inflammation, vascular remodeling, and immune dysregulation. COVID-19, caused by SARS-CoV-2, shares several systemic immunohematologic disturbances with IPF, including cytokine storms, endothelial injury, and prothrombotic states. Unlike general comparisons of viral infections and chronic lung disease, this review offers a focused analysis of the shared hematologic and immunologic mechanisms between COVID-19 and IPF.

Atrial cardiomyopathy (ACM) is increasingly recognized as a key contributor to the development and perpetuation of atrial fibrillation (AF), a prevalent cardiac arrhythmia with significant clinical implications. ACM involves complex structural, electrical, and functional remodeling of the atrial myocardium, driven by various pathological conditions such as hypertension, heart failure, and obesity. Key mechanisms include atrial fibrosis, inflammation, and oxidative stress, which collectively contribute to the pro-arrhythmic and pro-thrombotic state associated with AF.

: Thrombophilia is a prothrombotic disorder that can affect pregnancy outcomes, potentially leading to maternal complications, fetal growth restriction, and adverse perinatal events. However, the precise relationship between thrombophilia and these outcomes remains under investigation, and the impact of hematological, renal, hepatic, and coagulation alterations in thrombophilic pregnancies is not yet fully understood. This study aims to examine the maternal and neonatal consequences of thrombophilia by analyzing key laboratory parameters and perinatal outcomes in affected pregnancies.
