: Robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is gaining popularity worldwide, leading to a potential increase in the number of pin tracker-related complications. This study determined the effectiveness of periarticular pin tracker placement in the distal femur and proximal tibia through a single main incision during robotic-assisted TKA over a minimum follow-up period of 6 months. A consecutive series of 149 TKAs was performed in 108 patients using the triathlon posterior-stabilized total knee prosthesis with a robotic-assisted system at our hospital from December 2023 to February 2024. Clinical outcomes and complications associated with pin tracker sites, including pin-site infection, neurovascular injury, hematoma, soft-tissue morbidity, and pin-site fracture, were assessed. The mean Knee Society knee score improved from 42.5 preoperatively to 76.3 points at the final follow-up, whereas the mean Knee Society function score improved from 43.1 preoperatively to 78.1 points at the final follow-up (both < 0.05). No patient experienced any minor or major complications related to the use of pin trackers in the distal femur and proximal tibia. This periarticular technique that uses pin trackers in the distal femur and proximal tibia through a single main incision could be a useful option for orthopedic surgeons while performing robotic-assisted TKA.

Introduction: With the increasing use of robotic-assisted total knee arthroplasty (RATKA), pin-related complications are uncommon, but can be distressing to both the surgeon and patient. We encountered two cases of tracking pin-related distal femoral and proximal tibial fractures and treated them surgically.
Case Report: Two patients developed fractures in the postoperative period following RATKA.

Ultrasound is widely used for tissue imaging such as breast cancer diagnosis; however, fundamental challenges limit its integration with wearable technologies, namely, imaging over large-area curvilinear organs. We introduced a wearable, conformable ultrasound breast patch (cUSBr-Patch) that enables standardized and reproducible image acquisition over the entire breast with less reliance on operator training and applied transducer compression. A nature-inspired honeycomb-shaped patch combined with a phased array is guided by an easy-to-operate tracker that provides for large-area, deep scanning, and multiangle breast imaging capability.

Background: A novel simplified navigation-based instrumentation system has been developed. It simplifies the existing navigation system and facilitates convenient bone cutting by positioning the tracker on an existing cutting block without additional pin fixation. This study aimed to compare the outcomes of this newly developed simplified navigation-based instrumentation system in primary total knee arthroplasty (TKA) performed by a novice surgeon with those of conventional surgical techniques.

We report a case of ipsilateral periprosthetic fractures above and below the knee that occurred at different times due to navigation tracker pin and bone fragility. A 66-year-old Japanese woman with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) underwent a total knee arthroplasty. Four months post-surgery, a periprosthetic fracture above the knee at the navigation pin hole was detected.
