Objectives: Night shift work has been classified as probably carcinogenic to humans, possibly related to suppression of melatonin secretion. Although experimental studies suggest that melatonin inhibits intestinal tumor proliferation, epidemiological evidence for a relationship between night shift work and colorectal cancer (CRC) risk is lacking.
Methods: We prospectively examined the association between night shift work and CRC in the Nightingale Study.

The rapid expansion of delivery labor platforms in China has driven many people to move from rural to urban areas. Previous studies indicated that platform-based delivery work can be demanding, subject to algorithmic control, and lacking employment protections. While migrant workers are more likely to be exposed to adverse psychosocial working conditions and more vulnerable due to limited social services, few studies have examined the role of migrant status in mental health and its associations with psychosocial working conditions among platform delivery workers.

Background: During the student-led mass uprising in Bangladesh in July 2024, over 1300 cases of eye injuries were reported, with several hundred resulting in permanent blindness. However, the broader aftermath-encompassing financial hardship, social exclusion and psychological trauma-remains largely unexplored.
Objective: To assess the psychological, social and financial consequences of ocular injuries among survivors of the July 2024 protests in Bangladesh.
