Neuropathic deformities of the lesser toes refer to a variety of neuromuscular disorders in which a stiff lesser toe deformity is encountered. Claw toes, hammer toes, and mallet toes can be found. Each deformity is better described as which joint of a particular toe is in a flexed or extended position. This information guides the surgeon to which joint should be addressed and what additional soft tissue procedure may be needed. Interphalangeal joint fusions are the procedure of choice, together with extensor or flexor tenotomies. Good results can be expected, with low revision rates.

Fibromyalgia syndrome (FM) is characterized by widespread pain and fatigue. People living with FM also experience tactile allodynia, cold-evoked pain, paresthesia and dysesthesia. There is evidence of small fiber neuropathy and hyperexcitability of nociceptors in FM, however the presence of other sensory abnormalities suggests involvement of large diameter sensory fibers.

Neuropathic pain following traumatic nerve injury is a disabling chronic pain disorder characterized by sensory abnormalities such as mechanical allodynia. Botulinum neurotoxin type A (BoNT/A) has shown analgesic properties in a range of clinical pain conditions and in animal models. Introduction: Trigeminal neuralgia (TN) is a chronic neuropathic pain disorder characterized by spontaneous or triggered electric shock-like facial pain. Microvascular decompression (MVD) is the most effective surgical intervention for classical TN that is refractory to medication. Recent advances in neuroimaging have enhanced visualization of the trigeminal nerve's vascular anatomy, deepening insights into TN pathophysiology and paving the way for improved diagnostics and therapies.

Background And Aims: Mitochondrial trifunctional protein deficiency (MTPD) is an inherited disorder of fatty acid β-oxidation caused by mutations in HADHA or HADHB genes. It typically presents with cardiomyopathy or hepatic failure in early childhood; however, it may rarely present in adulthood with the neuromyopathic form.
Methods: We describe a patient with MTPD with isolated neuropathy mimicking Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT) as the first and only presenting symptom.
