Hepatic cancers, including hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) and cholangiocarcinoma (CCA), are major global health concerns due to rising incidence and limited therapeutic success. While traditional risk factors include chronic liver disease and environmental exposures, recent evidence underscores the significance of genetic alterations and gut microbiota in liver cancer development and progression. This review aims to integrate emerging knowledge on the interplay between host genomic changes and gut microbial dynamics in the pathogenesis and treatment of hepatic cancers.

Artificial intelligence (AI) applied to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is transforming the diagnosis and management of this chronic disease, posing a significant public health challenge. Despite recent advances, there remains a gap in the systematization of knowledge regarding AI and T2DM, as well as in the identification of trends and scientific collaborations in this field. This study aims to conduct a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of academic output on AI applied to T2DM, mapping the main actors, collaboration networks, and predominant research themes from 2000 to 2024.

Chagas disease, caused by the protozoan parasite , remains a significant public health challenge with evolving epidemiological patterns due to migration and globalization. While its cardiac complications are well-characterized, stroke represents an underrecognized yet devastating manifestation, occurring in 3%-20% of patients. Traditionally viewed primarily as a cardioembolic pathophysiology, emerging evidence suggests a more complex pathophysiologic mechanism involving inflammatory, prothrombotic, and microvascular processes.

Behçet's Disease (BD) was traditionally classified according to the International Study Group (ISG), where oral ulcers were mandatory. The International Team for the Revision of the International Criteria for BD (ICBD) introduced a scoring system instead. Our aim was to assess (a) sensitivity, (b) concordance between ISG and ICDB criteria in global and severe BD cases (ocular, vascular, and neurological), and (c) evaluate their clinical implications.
