The relation between band topology and Majorana zero energy modes (MZMs) in topological superconductors had been well studied in the past decades. However, the relation between the quantum metric and MZMs has yet to be understood. In this Letter, we first construct a three band Lieb-like lattice model with an isolated flat band and tunable quantum metric.

The last decade unveiled dicyanopyrazine as a purely organic photocatalyst capable of initiating a variety of unprecedented photoredox transformations. The latest discoveries also pointed to a facile Mallory-type photocyclization of the catalyst to quinoxaline-2,3-dicarbonitrile derivative, which proved to be the active catalytic species. Its principal photochemical properties involve the absorption band covering the blue spectral region, a sufficiently long-lived triplet, and the reversible first reduction accompanied by the formation of the corresponding radical anion.

Rice viral diseases pose severe threats to global food security, with over 20 viruses identified in China alone. The advent of high-throughput sequencing has accelerated the discovery of novel viruses in cultivated and wild rice, unveiling previously undetected threats. This review systematically summarises newly discovered rice viruses over the past decade, analyzing their genomic characteristics, transmission modes, and pathogenic mechanisms.

Traditional viral-based chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T cell therapies have vanquished multiple blood malignancies with decade-long remissions yet struggle against solid tumors. Nonviral engineering of CAR T cells via electroporation or lipid nanoparticle (LNP) delivery of CAR-encoding mRNA results in highly efficient yet transient CAR expression, challenging the adequacy of available preclinical models for mRNA-based CAR T cell evaluation. This study presents a unique three-pronged approach that combines mRNA-based CAR T cells, multi-targeting of glioblastoma (GBM)-associated receptors, and maximal surgical resection as a novel and readily translatable platform for preclinical evaluation of mRNA-based CAR T cells against solid tumors.

The release of synthesized zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO-NPs) into the environment and consequent human exposure risk brought enormous attention in recent years. In recent decades, a range of toxicological effects were highlighted on hepatotoxic risk during ZnO-NPs exposure without precise mechanistic verification. The current study employed proteomic profiling (LC-MS/MS) to unveil the interaction of ZnO-NPs with human serum proteins (protein corona) and its relevant hepatotoxic mechanisms.
