Pattern recognition-based myoelectric control is traditionally trained with static or ramp contractions, but this fails to capture the dynamic nature of real-world movements. This study investigated the benefits of training classifiers with continuous dynamic data, encompassing transitions between various movement classes. We employed both conventional (LDA) and deep learning (LSTM) classifiers, comparing their performance when trained with ramp data, continuous dynamic data, and an LSTM pre-trained with a self-supervised learning technique (VICReg).

Virtual reality (VR) has been utilized in clinical treatment because it can efficiently simulate situations that are difficult to control in the real world. In this study, we evaluated the efficacy of VR in patients with chronic subjective tinnitus. We assessed the clinical effectiveness based on electroencephalogram (EEG) analysis and questionnaire responses after patients participated in a 6-8-week VR-based tinnitus relief program.

The integration of digital health and informatics competencies into health care education in Canada is essential for preparing a workforce capable of leveraging health care technologies to enhance care delivery and patient outcomes. Despite significant advancements, the current educational landscape in digital health remains inconsistent, characterized by fragmented curricula and uneven competency attainment. Addressing these gaps requires an innovative reframing of digital health competencies guided by a robust, outcomes-oriented framework.

Background: Digital media frequently contains positive portrayals of alcohol content, which has been shown to be associated with alcohol-related cognitions and behaviors. Because youth are heavy media consumers and have access to unsupervised, repeat viewing of media content on their personal mobile devices, it is critical to understand the frequency of encountering alcohol content in adolescents' daily lives and how adolescents engage with the content.
Objective: This paper outlines the study protocol for examining adolescents' exposure to alcohol-related content in digital media within their natural environments.

Since the first decentralized clinical trial (DCT) was conducted in 2011, there has been an increased usage of DCT due to its benefits of patient-centricity and generalizability of findings. This trend was further expedited by the global COVID-19 pandemic. We identified 23 case studies across various therapeutic areas and grouped them into different categories according to their purposes-by necessity, for operational benefits, to address unique research questions, to validate innovative digital endpoints, or to validate decentralization as a clinical research platform.
