Article Abstract

is a fungal pathogen of flax that can cause significant yield and quality losses. In this work, we obtained the first complete annotated genome assembly of the highly virulent strain #394-2. The nuclear genome consisted of ten core and two accessory chromosomes and had a length of 53.7 Mb. The mitochondrial genome was 39.1 kb. The assembly was obtained by the Canu-Racon ×2-Medaka-Polca algorithm using Oxford Nanopore Technologies and Illumina data. As a result of the annotation with the Illumina RNA-Seq data, 12,449 genes were identified. Potential signaling proteins were tested for effector functions and 550 effector proteins were predicted using EffectorP. The visualization of the effector protein localization revealed that the presence of effector proteins was associated with repeat-rich regions. A comparison of the genomic structure of with chromosome-level and complete assemblies of the genus representatives revealed that the genomes of species differed by the presence of chromosomal rearrangements. The obtained assembly expands the knowledge of the genomic structure of species and provides the basis for further studies of , which will help to understand the virulence mechanisms and protect flax from anthracnose.

A novel bacterial strain, SM-13 was isolated from the rhizospheric soil of Epipremnum aureum (Jade Pothos) sampled in Suwon, Republic of Korea. The isolate was Gram-stain-negative, aerobic, motile, rod-shaped, cream-coloured, oxidase- and catalase-positive. Strain SM-13 grew at the range of 15-37 °C (optimum, 25 °C), at pH 6.

Purpose: To evaluate inter-grader variability in posterior vitreous detachment (PVD) classification in patients with epiretinal membrane (ERM) and macular hole (MH) on spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and identify challenges in defining a reliable ground truth for artificial intelligence (AI)-based tools.

Methods: A total of 437 horizontal SD-OCT B-scans were retrospectively selected and independently annotated by six experienced ophthalmologists adopting four categories: 'full PVD', 'partial PVD', 'no PVD', and 'ungradable'. Inter-grader agreement was assessed using pairwise Cohen's kappa scores.

(Hymenoptera, Encyrtidae) are parasitoids of agricultural/forestry mealybug pests. This study first sequences and annotates 's complete mitochondrial genome (15,768 bp), which contains 13 PCGs, 22 tRNAs, 2 rRNAs. All 13 PCGs start with ATN (ATT, ATG, ATA); most end with TAA, except ND1 (TAG).

Sauvagesia rhodoleuca is an endangered species endemic to southern China. Due to human activities, only six fragmented populations remain in Guangdong and Guangxi. Despite considerable conservation efforts, its demographic history and evolution remain poorly understood, particularly from a genomic perspective.

Standardizing single-cell approaches to osteoarthritis: Toward a comprehensive cellular atlas.

Osteoarthritis Cartilage

September 2025

Laboratory of Skeletal Biomedicine, IBIMA, Plataforma BIONAND, Department of Cell Biology, Genetics and Physiology, University of Málaga, Málaga 29071, Spain. Electronic address:

Osteoarthritis (OA) is a degenerative joint disease marked by progressive cartilage degradation and complex cellular heterogeneity. In recent years, single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) has emerged as a powerful tool for dissecting the cellular composition of the osteoarthritic joint. However, constructing a complete and coherent picture of the OA single-cell landscape remains challenging, akin to assembling a puzzle from multiple sets, each with pieces of varying shapes and sizes.
