Background: Assisted vaginal birth is a lifesaving procedure where health workers use special devices to expedite birth vaginally when some complications emerge, such as due to prolonged labor. When the use of assisted vaginal birth is possible and appropriate, it provides benefits over cesarean section. These benefits include shorter recovery, reduced hospital stays, lower risks of complications, cost savings, and greater likelihood of vaginal birth in future pregnancies.

Background: In patients with recurrent or metastatic squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (R/M SCCHN), the correlation between hematological markers and treatment outcomes has been established. However, their predictive role in the development of immune-related adverse events (irAEs) remains unclear.
Methods: We conducted a multicenter retrospective cohort study to evaluate whether pre-treatment hematological markers-including neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), lymphocyte-to-monocyte ratio (LMR), and the CRP-albumin-lymphocyte (CALLY) index-predict the development of irAEs in 147 patients with R/M SCCHN treated with pembrolizumab.

Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the potential contribution of subtle peripheral auditory dysfunction to listening difficulties (LiD) using a threshold-equalizing noise (TEN) test and distortion-product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE). We hypothesized that a subset of patients with LiD have undetectable peripheral auditory dysfunction.
Design: This case-control study included 61 patients (12 to 53 years old; male/female, 18/43) in the LiD group and 22 volunteers (12 to 59 years old; male/female, 10/12) in the control group.

ObjectivesTo assess the association of obesity with outcomes among patients with severe acute respiratory infection.MethodsThis is a retrospective cohort study of patients with severe acute respiratory infection admitted to the intensive care units in four referral hospitals in Saudi Arabia between September 2012 and June 2018. Patients were classified into two groups: overweight-obese patients (body mass index ≥25 kg/m) and normal-weight patients (body mass index between 18.
