Aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH) is a devastating neurological disease, and one of the primary drivers of morbidity after aneurysm rupture is the phenomenon of delayed cerebral ischemia (DCI). Significant knowledge has been gained over the past two decades of the impact of neuroinflammation in DCI; and neutrophils are now believed to play a major role. There is significant human subject data showing the rise of neutrophil related inflammatory markers and neutrophil's association with poor outcome after aSAH, but as of yet no trials involving human subjects have been done specifically targeting neutrophils.

Unlabelled: Bleeding and thromboembolic events (BTE) increase the mortality of COVID-19 acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS) treated with extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO). The current analysis aimed to assess frequency and determinants of BTE according to their location and severity in a retrospective analysis of the German ECMO COVID-19 registry. Logistic regression was applied to identify factors influencing ICU survival as well as variables associated with risks of BTE.

Introduction: The diagnosis of acute central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is commonly delayed in emergency departments (ED) where ophthalmologists are rarely available for immediate consultation. Thrombolysis is sometimes given empirically for presumed CRAO without confirmation of the diagnosis with ocular funduscopic examination.

Methods: We describe one case of severe intraocular hemorrhage following intravenous thrombolysis for a retinal detachment misdiagnosed as a CRAO, and two cases of worsening intraocular hemorrhage following intravenous thrombolysis for misdiagnosed CRAO, and review the literature.

Intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) is a devastating neurological disorder characterized by high mortality and disability rates, driven by dynamic neuroinflammatory cascades, oxidative stress, and blood-brain barrier (BBB) disruption. Despite advancements in conventional therapies, their efficacy remains limited due to poor BBB penetration and single-target interventions. This review highlights the transformative potential of nanobiotechnology in addressing these challenges through stage-specific modulation of neuroinflammation and multi-mechanism synergy.

Hypertension in the brain may lead to hypertensive intracerebral hemorrhage (HICH), a devastating disease. This study, grounded on bioinformatics insights, aims to investigate the functions of Selectin E (SELE) and forkhead box P1 (FOXP1) in the progression of HICH. Increased SELE expression was detected in the striatum of a mouse model of HICH generated via angiotensin II and L-NAME treatments.
