Background: Difficult weaning from mechanical ventilation in ICU patients prolongs hospitalization and increases risks of complications like ventilator-associated pneumonia and ICU-acquired weakness. While standard care (airway management and early functional exercise) is routine, outcomes remain suboptimal. This study evaluated a nurse-led, goal-directed pulmonary rehabilitation program to improve weaning success, reduce weaning time, and enhance physiological/functional recovery in this high-risk population.

Background: The present study aimed to develop and validate a nurse-led clinical prediction model for assessing the risk of myasthenic crisis (MC) in myasthenia gravis (MG) patients with bulbar weakness.
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on MG patients meeting the inclusion criteria from January 2022 to June 2024. The training group included 308 patients (January 2022-January 2024), and the validation group included 77 patients (February 2024-June 2024).

Background: Silent aspiration poses significant clinical risks in dysphagia patients, contributing to recurrent respiratory infections and aspiration pneumonia that ultimately result in elevated hospitalization rates and increased mortality. While video fluoroscopic swallowing studies (VFSS) and fiberoptic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing (FEES) remain the diagnostic gold standards, their high costs create substantial barriers to efficient large-scale screening. Conventional bedside swallowing assessments demonstrate limited sensitivity for silent aspiration detection due to inherent subjectivity in evaluation process.

The Hepatitis C virus (HCV) is disproportionately prevalent among people with mental health conditions and alcohol and other drug issues, reducing their life expectancy. Although hepatitis C is a curable condition, this population frequently remains untested and untreated.

Background: Cardiovascular disease (CVD) is a leading cause of mortality in patients with early-stage breast cancer (BC), many of whom are prescribed endocrine therapy (ET) to prevent BC recurrence. Yet, nonadherence to ET and CVD medications is common among BC survivors, particularly in underserved populations at high risk for adverse outcomes. Little is known about how to equitably improve medication adherence for multiple chronic conditions.
