Article Abstract

Ocular adnexa region (OAR) primary lymphomas are uncommon, accounting for 1-2% of non-Hodgkin lymphomas and 8% of extranodal lymphomas. Extranodal marginal zone lymphoma (EMZL) originates from several epithelial tissues, including the stomach, salivary gland, lung, small intestine, thyroid gland, and ocular adnexa region. Here, we report a 66-year-old female patient who was diagnosed with EMZL of OAR. In consideration of the possible side effect of radiotherapy, such as conjunctivitis, visual acuity impairment, and even retinal complications, she received six cycles of triweekly targeted chemotherapy with rituximab, cyclophosphamide, vincristine, and prednisone (R-CVP) without radiotherapy. Then, she remained in complete remission up to the present day.

Background: Primary pulmonary extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue (MALT lymphoma) localized in the trachea and bronchus is rare and diagnostically challenging due to nonspecific clinical and radiological features.

Case Description: We present two cases of primary endobronchial MALT lymphoma incidentally diagnosed via bronchoscopy. We assessed the characteristic bronchoscopic finding of endobronchial MALT lymphoma, radiological examinations and overall treatment strategies.

Follicular lymphoma mostly takes an indolent course, and thus, observation with watchful waiting is a main therapeutic strategy. Recent long-term studies suggest earlier treatment with rituximab monotherapy may benefit patients by delaying the need for treatment in the later phase of exacerbation. In this study, we reported a patient with bilateral orbital follicular lymphoma who received four-time weekly rituximab monotherapy as an induction therapy only and maintained the remission for 5 years with no treatment.

Primary hepatic extranodal marginal zone lymphoma of mucosa-associated type (MALT) is an extremely rare liver neoplasm. The lesions are often misdiagnosed for the most common primary hepatic malignancy, such as hepatocellular carcinoma and cholangiocarcinoma. As the diagnosis is most often made after the resection, there are still no clear guidelines for the optimal treatment of these patients.

The lymph node ratio is a prognostic factor for survival in laryngeal and hypopharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma.

Introduction: The lymph-node yield and the lymph-node ratio have emerged as important prognostic tools for head and neck cancer. These metrics are an index of disease burden, but also of quality standards. The objective of the present study was to examine the impact of different lymph-node yield cut-offs and the lymph-node ratio on 10-year recurrence-free interval and overall-survival.
