Article Abstract

The fall armyworm (FAW) poses a significant global threat to food security, and economics. Timely detection is crucial, and this research explores innovative techniques like data analysis, remote sensing, satellite imagery, and AI with machine learning algorithms for predicting and managing outbreaks. Emphasizing the importance of community engagement and international collaboration, social network analysis (SNA) is employed to uncover collaborative networks in FAW management research. The study analyzes a decade of research, revealing trends, influential institutions, authors, and countries, providing insights for efficient FAW management strategies. The research highlights a growing interest in Spodoptera frugiperda (Smith and Abbott 1797) research, focusing on biological control, chemical insecticides, plant extracts, and pest resistance. Co-Citation analysis identifies key research concepts, while collaboration analysis emphasizes the contributions of actors and institutions, such as China, the USA, and Brazil, with international collaboration playing a vital role. Current research trends involve evolving resistance, insecticidal protein gene discovery, and bio-control investigations. Leveraging insights from collaborative networks is essential for formulating effective strategies to manage fall armyworm and ensure global food security. This comprehensive analysis serves as a valuable resource for researchers and stakeholders, guiding efforts to combat this pervasive agricultural pest.

Idiopathic multicentric Castleman disease (iMCD) is a rare lymphoproliferative disorder characterized by systemic inflammation and lymphadenopathy. Two major clinical subtypes, idiopathic plasmacytic lymphadenopathy (iMCD-IPL) and iMCD with thrombocytopenia, anasarca, fever, renal dysfunction/reticulin fibrosis, and organomegaly (iMCD-TAFRO), exhibit distinct pathophysiologic mechanisms. While interleukin-6 (IL-6) is known to be elevated in iMCD, the differences in IL-6 production sources between subtypes remain unclear.

Few-shot learning for highly accelerated 3D time-of-flight MRA reconstruction.

Purpose: To develop a deep learning-based reconstruction method for highly accelerated 3D time-of-flight MRA (TOF-MRA) that achieves high-quality reconstruction with robust generalization using extremely limited acquired raw data, addressing the challenge of time-consuming acquisition of high-resolution, whole-head angiograms.

Methods: A novel few-shot learning-based reconstruction framework is proposed, featuring a 3D variational network specifically designed for 3D TOF-MRA that is pre-trained on simulated complex-valued, multi-coil raw k-space datasets synthesized from diverse open-source magnitude images and fine-tuned using only two single-slab experimentally acquired datasets. The proposed approach was evaluated against existing methods on acquired retrospectively undersampled in vivo k-space data from five healthy volunteers and on prospectively undersampled data from two additional subjects.

Background: Disparities in posttransplant outcomes persist and worsened during the COVID-19 pandemic, disproportionately affecting individuals with social risk factors. This study examined the total and residual (ie, direct) associations between individual- and neighborhood-level income and posttransplant outcomes among deceased donor kidney transplant (DDKT) and living donor kidney transplant recipients transplanted in the United States in 2020.

Methods: This retrospective cohort study linked Organ Procurement and Transplantation Network data with estimated individual annual income from LexisNexis and neighborhood median annual household income from the American Community Survey.

α-Amylase is a high-value enzyme widely applied in food, feed, textile, and bioenergy industries, yet achieving stable high-level production in Aspergillus niger remains difficult due to nonlinear fermentation dynamics and limited real-time control. To this end, an AI-driven fermentation optimization framework was established by combining multivariate machine learning, Raman spectroscopy-based glucose monitoring, and time-series transcriptomics. Twelve algorithms were benchmarked, with Random Forest showing the best predictive power, while SHAP interpretation highlighted glucose as the dominant regulatory factor.

Department of Animal Science, University College of Agriculture and Natural Resources, University of Tehran, Karaj, Alborz, Iran.

The poultry industry plays a key role in meeting global protein needs amid changing demographics and lifestyles, and is constantly growing and evolving. Genetic selection and optimization of broiler breeder flocks have been key drivers of growth, making the maintenance of their health and performance essential both for chick production and for the long-term sustainability of the industry. Despite the high importance of broiler breeder flocks, no systematic bibliometric study has yet been conducted that specifically focuses on research in this area.
