Acute lung injury (ALI) is characterized by the excessive accumulation of reactive oxygen species (ROS), which triggers a severe inflammatory cascade and the destruction of the alveolar-capillary barrier, leading to respiratory failure and life-threatening outcomes. Considering the limitations and adverse effects associated with current therapeutic interventions, developing effective and safe strategies that target the complex pathophysiological mechanisms of ALI is crucial for improving patient outcomes. Herein, we developed an inhalable, multifunctional nanotherapeutic (MSCNVs@CAT) by encapsulating catalase (CAT) in mesenchymal-stem-cell-derived nanovesicles (MSCNVs).

Retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) are highly compartmentalized neurons whose long axons serve as the sole connection between the eye and the brain. In both injury and disease, RGC degeneration occurs in a similarly compartmentalized manner, with distinct molecular and cellular responses in the axonal and somatodendritic regions. The goal of this study was to establish a microfluidic-based platform to investigate RGC compartmentalization in both health and disease states.

Type II testicular germ cell tumors (GCT) are the most common malignant disease in young men, with a steadily increasing incidence. They originate from germ cell neoplasia in situ and are classified into seminomas (SE) and nonseminomas (NS). The NS subtype embryonal carcinoma (EC) exhibits stem cell-like characteristics and, thus, has the potential to differentiate into teratomas (TE) or extraembryonic tissues, such as yolk-sac tumors (YST) and choriocarcinomas (CC).

In the current in vitro experiment, we fabricated and characterized placenta/platelet-rich plasma (PL/Pt) composite scaffolds and evaluated their effect on differentiating adipose stem cells (ASCs) into insulin-producing cells (IPCs) in vitro. The human placenta (PL) was decellularized (dPL), characterized, and digested in pepsin. PRP was extracted using a two-step centrifugation process and then freeze-dried.

Serous endometrial carcinoma (SEC) is one of the most lethal types of uterine cancer, responsible for about 40% of all endometrial cancer-related deaths. Cell state dynamics during the early stages of SEC remain largely unknown, thereby hindering early detection and treatment of this disease. Here, we provide a comprehensive census of cell types and their states for normal, predysplastic, and dysplastic endometrium in a genetic mouse model of SEC.
