Article Abstract

Background: This case report outlines the presentation of an emerging complication arising from left bundle branch area pacing (LBBAP).

Case Summary: A 43-year-old male with no history of cardiac problems experienced recurrent episodes of syncope with no prodromal symptoms. During monitoring in the emergency department, the patient underwent an episode of asystole, leading to LBBAP implantation. The procedure encountered technical challenges, resulting in an interventricular septal hematoma and subsequent ventricular arrhythmias. Despite initial concerns, conservative management led to resolution, demonstrated through echocardiographic follow-ups.

Discussion: This report underscores the significance of ventricular arrhythmias as indicators of interventricular septal hematoma, providing insights into its diagnosis, management, and implications for LBBAP procedures.

Objective This research investigated the application of real-time, three-dimensional speckle tracking imaging (RT-3D-STI) to evaluate left atrial (LA) function in individuals suffering from hypertensive heart disease (HHD) and heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF).Material and methods This retrospective study included 100 patients with HHD and HFpEF hospitalized from August 2023to June 2024 (HFpEF group). 100 healthy individuals undergoing physical examinations comprised the control group.

Objective: To describe national patterns in the screening, diagnosis, and clinical management of bronchopulmonary dysplasia-associated pulmonary hypertension (BPD-PH) in Spanish neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) and assess the need for standardized screening and management protocols and unified follow-up strategies.

Methods: A 20-question electronic survey was distributed to all Level III NICUs in the Spanish public health system to evaluate practices in BPD-PH screening, diagnosis, and clinical management. Results were analyzed globally and by NICU level (IIIB vs.

Background Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is associated with significant maternal and fetal complications, including potential effects on fetal cardiac development. This study aimed to evaluate structural and functional cardiac changes in fetuses of mothers with GDM using fetal echocardiography and to compare them with those of healthy pregnancies. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate functional cardiac changes, specifically interventricular septum (IVS) thickness and posterior wall thickness, E/A ratio (ratio of early (E) to late (A) diastolic mitral inflow velocities), and fractional shortening, in fetuses of mothers with GDM.
