Early and accurate identification of septicemia in neonatal foals improves survival. In human medicine, the neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), neutrophil-to-monocyte ratio (NMR), monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR), and plasma cell-free DNA (cfDNA) aid in early bacteremia detection. This study evaluated the diagnostic utility of these markers in conjunction with other clinical and hematological parameters in hospitalized foals < 5 days old to predict positive blood culture at admission and to distinguish between Gram-positive, Gram-negative, or polymicrobial bacteremia.

Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) is an example of an autoimmune disease manifesting itself in an aberrated immune response directed against nuclear, cytoplasmic and cell-surface antigens. Among patients, symptoms are frequently intensified in females during their active reproductive years, pinpointing the interaction between reproductive and immune systems. Hence, it is urgent to address the question of how SLE can influence female fertility and the impact of hormones on disease manifestation.

Background: Maternal immunization relies on active transplacental transfer of immunoglobulin G. However, very little is known about the efficacy of maternal immunization in the setting of multiple gestation. We aimed to investigate transplacental transfer of maternal antibody in pregnancies with multiple gestation including mono- and dichorionic pregnancies by evaluating anti-Spike antibody transfer at delivery.

The discovery and development of multispecific antibodies present unique challenges in optimizing their physicochemical properties to enhance developability and manufacturability. Common developability challenges include increased risk of aggregation, high viscosity, poor solubility, low expression yields, complex purification requirements, greater propensity for fragmentation, immunogenicity, or pharmacokinetics. In this study, we systematically investigate the solution behavior of engineered bispecific IgG1-VHH constructs derived from a parental NKp30 ×EGFR natural killer cell engager (NKCE) molecule, focusing on colloidal stability, hydrophobicity, thermal stability, pH sensitivity, and viscosity.

Background: Toxoplasma gondii is a common parasitic infection agent that, in its chronic phase, forms persistent tissue cysts in neuronal cells, potentially leading to neurological and behavioral alterations.
Aim: To investigate the role of chronic toxoplasmosis in human substance abuse and investigate its effect on dopamine levels, which is associated with substance abuse.
Materials And Methods: The study was designed with a substance abuse group comprising 90 patients with substance addiction and a control group consisting of 75 individuals without substance addiction.
