Scapholunate complex injuries are the most frequent lesions associated with distal radius fractures and the treatment algorithm according to the stage of the instability remains controversial. However, there is an admitted consensus around the necessary treatment of the associated high-grade instabilities. They occur frequently in young patients after high energy trauma, and not treated, they can lead to chronic wrist pain and eventually to scapholunate advanced collapse. The routine use of the arthroscopy provides an accurate intraoperative staging of the lesions and allows a tailored treatment depending on the severity of the scapholunate instability.

Scaphotrapeziotrapezoid arthrodesis is a controversial surgical procedure for wrist disorders and its biomechanical effect remains unclear. This study investigated scaphotrapeziotrapezoid fusion based on a previously validated whole-wrist finite element model to simulate arthrodesis by creating a unified bone complex from the three bones (scaphoid, trapezium and trapezoid) in the joint. The model was analysed under physiological grasping loads to examine axial load distributions and articular contact pressures at the radioscaphoid and radiolunate interfaces.

Background: Rupture of the scapholunate (SL) interosseous ligament (SLIL) is a challenging injury to treat surgically due to the small and complex nature of the SL linkage. This study was a preliminary robotic assessment of the immediate biomechanical effects of a novel 3D-printed scaffold used to reconstruct the ruptured SLIL.
Methods: Nine minimally loaded cadaveric wrists underwent robotically manipulated flexion-extension and radial-ulnar deviation under conditions of intact, transected, and reconstructed SLIL.

Introduction: Ulnar-sided wrist pain remains a diagnostic challenge due to its complex anatomy and broad differential diagnosis. This study evaluated the diagnostic role and therapeutic consequences of wrist arthroscopy in patients with ulnar-sided wrist pain and suspected triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC) lesions.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective cohort study was conducted on patients undergoing diagnostic wrist arthroscopy for suspected TFCC lesions based on clinical and imaging assessments between 2012 and 2021.

Objectives: To determine the diagnostic accuracy of a wrist MR-arthrography (MR-A) protocol using iodinated contrast agent only compared to wrist diagnostic arthroscopy in the detection of tears of intrinsic ligaments and triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC).
Materials And Methods: This study retrospectively enrolled 39 patients who underwent MR-A using iodinated contrast agent only before arthroscopic examination between May 2019 and December 2021. For each patient, a resident (R1) and an experienced musculoskeletal radiologist (R2) independently reviewed the MR-A dataset.
